A reverse delay. A reverse delay if you like. A classical delay if you prefer. A classical? Not really, because it comes with a low & high pass filter. (A switch to select the high or low pass filter. A cutoff rotating knob.). This filter is really great and very useful when you want to use the reverse delay. It allows you to make the effect more audible, or to “clean” your track. The processing quality is really really great… I really love this App despite this there are 2 features that I will be really happy to have in a future update. First, it’s a link switch between the L & R channel and secondly and before all, the Ableton Link. I also think that some of you will enjoy the Midi implementation (to be able to automise the parameters). I can understand, but not me.. I never use MIDI for this kind of effects (I mean a reverse effect). I always bounce my track. I also never use a MIDI track when I am mixing a project… To conclude: I love this plugins. I am 100/100 sure that I will use it. A Killer App, a Must Have! (But please, the Ableton Link feature!)

Awesome! For musicians, vDjs, and others. What is it? An audio and image sequencer. How it works? You have a board. This board can be divided in x zones (x because I don’t know the maximum of divisions. A lot…). Each division can play a loop. A loop contains 4 sequencers. 1 to 32 steps sequencer. 1 for images and 3 for the audio. For the image, it uses .glsl files. (A GLSL Object is an object in the OpenGL API that encapsulates the compiled or linked Shaders that execute portions of the OpenGL Pipeline. These objects represent code written in the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). If you know how to program a .glsl file you will be able to edit it within the App. If not, there are a lot of images in the built in library. So, you have the 8 tracks sequencers. (Same for the audio). It works like most of all the sequencer. (Tap to add an event, again to delete, drag to set the length,…) You can load 1 image per track. You can also set the background colour and the transition duration. For each image, 7 parameters to set, or automatise with the sequencer or control with your finger. 1, 2 or 3 fingers. (x & y. Axis). For the 3 Audio sequencers. Also 8 tracks. (Import audio from Audio Share or AudioCopy). 11 effects: Flanger, Gate, Delay, Reverb, Low & High Pass, Lowshelf & HighShelf, Parametric Filter, Clipper & Limiter. All the parameters can be automatised, set or control with your finger! It’s awesome! 1 loop = 34 audio tracks + 8 animations tracks + ? The input! The built in microphone or an Audiobus input! K Mashine comes with the Ableton Link feature… Before to conclude… a 3 band EQ and a compressor (master out), a lot of sharing features, the community, record and share a video without the UI,,.. And more. Check out the tutorial below. To conclude. A very very good surprise! This App is awesome! Really! And very easy to use! A Must Have for vDJ. A Must Have for musicians too! (Even if you don't use the image sequencer.... can you imagine, a board with 100 Loops ready to play with all the parameters adjustable with you fingers...). A Must Have for live performances… a Must Have, a Killer App! A Must Have! A note: I don't know if this App is famous or not, downloaded a lot or not... I hope so! Because this App is AWESOME!
Review by Ed There are a lot of loopers in the App Store. Some are very powerful but not so easy to use. Looperverse is a 16 stereo tracks looper very easy to use and very well done. The UI looks like a classical DAW. 16 tracks, an handle to display the track volume, pan, delay and the reverb send. The parameters of these 2 built in effects can be found in the The settings menu page. 2 record modes by taping or holding the arm button present on all tracks: replace or overdub. Another mode, next track mode will be automatically set if no arm button has been enable. The loop length will be set automatically after your first recording or audio paste via AudioCopy. Note that this feature is really really cool for people who like to record free of tempo. If you have imported an Audio loop, the tempo will be automatically detected and set. To edit an Audio file, it’s easy. It’s works like Protools or Auria. Pinch horizontally or vertically to zoom in or out the waveform. Drag the bottom left or right handle of a region to crop it. One of the handle above to time stretch. The top handle in the middle of a region to set the gain and the handle below to change the pitch. Another great feature is the keyboard witch allows you to play a scene and change its pitch too with a simple tap on a key. For the input: Audiobus, IAA, an external hardware or the built in microphone. In summary Looperverse is great for live. It can be control via Midi with an external hardware or with the Looperverse pedal. It is also great for composing or arranging a song, and practicing too. A Killer App! A Must Have!
Review by Ed A Reverb like no other. An amazing Reverb created by Amazing Noises. I will not re write here, all the tutorial below, but only highlight some of the amazing features that make this Reverb so different from the others. The first is that you can control all the knobs (parameters) with an LFO, the accelerometer or MIDI. (Audio Units also) Using the LFO is really interesting and can generated a lot of surprises. Great for sound designers. The Snapshot Pad is really great too. The 4 first presets from a bank are automatically add to this expression Pad. Move your finger to morph a preset to another. (Not available in the Audio Units version) The Sampler is really cool too. It allows you to play with you recording. (Tap the waveform to play). Great for special FX. (Not available in the Audio Units version) Also, a Low & High cut filter (Pre), a Low & High shelf (post) and a compressor (post). In summary: This Reverb is one of the most versatile Reverb from the App Store. It belongs to my setup. I love it because you can use it as a conventional Reverb. The sound quality is top and the possibility to control all the parameters with an external hardware makes it great for live performances. I also love to create sound Fx with it. A Killer App! A Must Have!
Review by Ed This is the App Store description: GyroSynth is a finalist in 'Most Innovative App' category at the 2010 Best App Ever Awards (148apps). GyroSynth is a gesture driven music synthesizer, which takes full adventage of the gyroscope. You can play and modulate the sound by moving your hand through the air - just like the legendary Theremin instrument. GyroSynth makes use of the gyroscope to measure true roll, pitch, and yaw and translates them to sound parameters like pitch, volume, modulation or filter cutoff. Thanks to phenomenal accuracy (2000 degrees), you can play melodies perfectly in tune. Minimum requirements: iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4th generation FEATURES - Synthesizers: vocal (formant synthesizer), sine wave , square (PWM modulation), saw, granular sample player with recording function and R2D2 - experimental FM modulation - Effects: delay and boost - Several control modes - Included musical scales allow you to effortlessly play in several styles - Built-in recorder and player with overdub function "There isn’t too much more to say about GyroSynth other than wow!" AppSafari Enjoy the new experience! OS >= 9.0 1 or 2, even 3 little things that I would like to add to this description. The MIDI! You can control a,other App with it! Also,, the fun that I have each time that I play with it, even more than 7 years after. Fun, but not only. You can easily play a psychedelic solo with Gyrosynth, even if you're not a keyboard player. I love this App. If you don't have it, Gyrosynth is Free at this moment... I love BeepStreet too. A Killer App!
Review by Ed i have a few Apps since a very long time in my iPad. Some that I really love, but so powerful that I need a lot of time before to post the review.. Among this App, GeoShred. An awesome synthesizer. Between a electric or acoustic guitar, an harp, a sitar, Bass,... and a synthesizer. So much keyboard layouts, settings... So powerful! So, a little video where I am using some factory presets, just to let you listen to this Killer App!
Last week I received zMors. I thought that it was a modular Synthesizer. And yes it is, but I didn't know that it was much more that this. You can use it as a Audio UNIT / IAA and The udio us mixer. A multitrack recorder and mixer. A midi sequencer... As you like or need. I am so impressed that I wanted to do a little video. In the Video, I am using 3 Audio Units plugins, 1 midi sequencer and 1 midi keyboard module. The midi sequencer send the note to Ruismaker and the midi keyboard control Zeeon synth. I also route the Ruismaker Audio output signal to Reverb, a Audio Units effect.
bismark Music2Bus is a IAA & Audiobus compatible music player. Load a track from your Music Library, use the 5 bands EQ or not and play it. Simple. Perhaps a little bit too much.... Impossible to create a playlist and a repeat feature would be great to have. A very good App!
Review by Ed Review by Ed This is my "coup de cœur" of this month! I love this App! I really really love it... If you are an old Apps4idevices reader, you already know that I am the worst DJ of this Galaxy, and certainly of the others too. If you are a new reader, you will know it, later, but not today, even if Stereosun was created for Djs... Not today because Stereosun is so different. It's not a classical DJ App. Musicians can use it. Worse, it could even become the centerpiece of a composer who likes to work with loops ... Stereosun comes with the Ableton Link feature, so it can play in sync with your DAW, Drum Machine, sequencer,... On the center of the screen, the board. You can drop six Suns ( Audio files player) to this board. The Tempo of your Suns will be synced automatically. (Sync mode enabled. You can also change the Tempo of your loops with a swipe). Move a Sun to the top of the screen to set a higher level, to the bottom for a lower. On the both sides of the board, a Low and high pass filter. Drag a Sun on the left side (behind the vertical left line) to apply the low pass filter, on the right side, behind the vertical right line to apply the high filter. Swipe from up to down on the top of the screen to reveal the Loop editor. For one Sun you can set 6 loops or Cue points. (Loop length: 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 bar). Swipe again to reveal the second editor page. Here, you can adjust the start and end point of your loop, change its pitch, pan, level and apply a 3 bands EQ. From the board, if you swipe on the the left side from the Left to the right you will reveal the effects page. 8 effects: Reverb, Delay, Flanger, Whoosh, Gate, Roll, High Pass & Low Pass. Drag them to the board and connect them to the desire Sun. You can connect all the Suns to the same effects if you like. A Pad allows you to set 2 parameters for each of the effect. In use, it's Top, because you can check easily and fast which loop can work with a track you are composing. A Drum Loop, or instrument loop... A DJ will be able to add loops, effects to his mix also and use the Auto play mode whichis so great too. I will conclude this review as I started it: Stereosun is my "coup de cœur" of November! A Killer App, a Must Have! PS Audio Unit and more in a future update? More info soon...
TwistedWave is a mono & stereo track audio recorder & editor. The best one! (The desktop version is also the best in its category!) Why it’s the best? For a lot of reasons, but one before all. One finger! Yes, with TwistedWave you can do everything with one finger only: zoom an audio file in or out. set a Loop, add Markers to this loop, add a Fade in or out, and this is awesome because most of the things we have to do with a stereo or mono audio editor needs to be very clear-cut. (Fade in & out, Trim,...). Because of this, we need to zoom in and out a lot. The Zoom in feature must to be efficient too.... for that, TwistedWave is awesome. Also, TwistedWave comes with a lot of very useful effects: Silence, Normalise, Gain, Pitch, Speed, Reverse, Dynamics, Reverb, Delay,… this is top, but the awesome is that you can also apply an Audio Unit plugins (effect) to your track. For the sharing features, Twistedwave is also the best and its online server where you can upload a file for Free (30 days) is just top! Check out the video to see how Twistedwave is easy to use. Check out the tutorial to see all the powerful of this App. A Killer App, a Must Have!
