I love it and I use it! Refraktions is a Drone Machine, a Generative music tool, a 8 tracks sequencer, or a Sound Expander. There is someone in this App... Someone who learn about you each time you launch the App or play a new melody... " Your taps imprint the AI memory and help it generate loops tailored to your choices over time." "These sounds will loop and morph into new compositions over time, evolving indefinitely. More taps will be taken into consideration by AI and steer the app in new directions. The AI memory persists between app launches and the more you use the app, the more it learns about the tracks, pitches, and compositions you prefer, weighing your most recent decisions more heavily." "The notes will loop, getting quieter each time it plays. When the note has completely faded out, the overall composition is assessed by the AI and new sequences are generated. The result is that each time the app is used it outputs a unique composition that morphs and evolves over time. The more the app is used, the more the AI shapes itself to the user." 8 horizontal lines = 8 ribbon keyboards = 8 tracks = 8 instruments Only 8 instruments? Yes, and it's cool... The developer choice... 8 beautiful sounds to create an Atmosphere, a Drone. I love to use the internal sounds but you can also turn off a built-in instrument or all and send the MIDI out to another App. A few gestures... Swipe from L to R to remove all notes from a track. To rearrange the notes on all tracks, shake your device. To get the Tempo Selector to appear, drag three fingers up or down the screen. To reset the sequencer, draw a counter-clockwise circle on the screen. This is an easy way to clear out a busy song and start from scratch. If MIDI Clock is set to SEND MIDI CLOCK, then a MIDI Song Position of 0 0 is sent to the MIDI Destinations. Scrubbing the sequencer. Emulating the jog-wheel on classic hardware MIDI sequencers, you can change the position of the playhead by spinning the outside ring of the sequencer circles. This action also sends the corresponding Song Position data to the MIDI Destinations. Track parameters: Sound on / off - Quantize - Pattern length from 1 to 8 bars - notes duration from 8 to 64 bars - Volume - Volume lock - Tune (slider by semitones) - Chromatic- Octave selector - Octave Range - Notes lock on loop (will not change the note) - MIDI send - MIDI receive Global parameters: Scales selector - Ableton Link - MIDI source- MIDI destination- Background Audio - Reset all memory - Reset all tracks to default To conclude: I love it!

Review:This week I will post everydays a part of this tutorial... It's done, already... And it means that I know perfectly this App... (Excepted 1 little thing that I still not understand... Check it out in the Audio Track tutorial below..) 1 It's not the most powerful of the DAW, despite this: 3 inserts per track. Unlimited groups... Audiobus, IAA and AudioUnit (Intrument tracks and Fx) A lot of built in Plugins, others from the Shop. 2 It's not the most revolutionary UI, despite this: You don't need to read the User Manual, everything is simple... Not a lot if windows... A little bit like Protools... I love this... 3 It's not the most powerful Audio and MIDI Editor, despite this: One more time, for the Audio and MIDI Editors, no need to read the manual. Most of all the features I need are present. Perhaps the Time Stretching for an Audio Clip. I can also change the way I am writing... It's among and perhaps even the most "easy to use" Pro DAW from the App Store! It's my second DAW. And sometimes also my unique DAW. I am Beta Tester for Auria Pro, I have to install and uninstall it a lot of time. Auria is also heavy, and sometimes I need space in my iPad. So I remove it... But I keep Audio Evolution into my iPad. Audio Evolution is very study too... I need this.... A Killer App, a Must Have!
Review by Ed 1 Menu ProjectA real File browser... You can import easily MIDI and Audio from a project to another. You can Mixdown a project, send all rendered tracks to another DAW, export a MIDI file. Create and load Templates, Sure, load and save a Project... Import from Audio Share too... Overview and Tracks2 ways to create a Track:
Or you choose to import Audio or MIDI from another project. A track will be created . Or you Tap the + button located on the bottom right side of your screen. 4 choices here: Audio Track, MIDI Instrument Track, Drum Pattern Track or MIDI track. Note that I didn't understand how to create a Stereo Audio track... To create it, I import a stereo Audio file from Audioshare into Audio Evolution. All the tracks come with a Volume, a Pan, A input Routing, 3 inserts (Audio Unit or IAA plugins), 2 send to the groups (you can create unlimited groups). A 3 band EQ excepted for the MIDI Track. 1) Audio Track The input Routing allows you to insert an App. (Audiobus or IAA) Audio will be recorded. The track menu allows you to rename a track (You can also rename a track by a long tap on the note label.) To remove it. To move it up or down. To copy the track to the clipboard. To render the Audio to Audio File. 2) The MIDI Instrument Track It's exactly the same track as an Audio Track. Just after you have created it, you will have to choose the "Guest" App or the Audio Evolution built-in Sampler. (We will see this later) A shortcut on the trackhead allows you to switch to an IAA App or to the Audio Evolution keyboard if you have choosen an Audio Unit instrument. The Track menu displays the same things as the Audio Track plus a Translate by semitones, a Split Midi Channel and Merge All Clips features. This track record MIDI. 3 & 4) The MIDI track and the Drum Pattern tracks are the same. Only the MIDI Editor is different. (We will see this later) The Track menu is the sale as the MIDI Track instrument. The imput routing is for the MIDI destination and source. QuantiLoop Pro! A looper design for live performances... My looper. My favourite one! Why? First, because I use to play guitar with a lot of effects. With QuantiLoop, I have 4 inputs: 1 slot for the input source (an Audiobus, an Inter App or a physical hardware ) and a insert too (Inter App or Audio Unit plugins) for each of these inputs! I can also decide to monitoring or not an input and set the routing for each tracks and this is really awesome... (Check out the video demo). But, I need more effects to shape my guitar sound... No problem, there is a FX rack for all the inputs sources. 3 others plugins can be added there (Inter App and Audio Unit). More, QuantiLoop comes with a Reverb, a Delay a Compressor, a Gate and: a Transpose. The Transposer is just awesome... I don't neesd a bass guitar with it... . One more time, you can check out the video demo and listen how I turned my classical guitar into a bass guitar! 3 other Fx slots for the Master and tracks output: Half Speed, Fade, Reverse, Tape Stop, Double Speed, Compressor, Gate, Reverb, Delay and the awesome Transposer. For the effects, I am OK! Now, I have enough effects to be able to play with my classical guitar, but I need a Rhythm... No problem, there is a Rhythm track where I can plug an Inter App or an Audio Unit Drum Machine! If I like I can also import a Audio sample, or play the metronome track. If you have a BeatBuddy pedal, QuantiLoop will be able to control it! BeatBuddy? Check out the BeatBuddy section in the tutorial below. Now for the play modes.. A lot of possibilities here and 2 that I really really love... Love and need! First, you can play free. And this "simple" feature is not so easy to find in a looper, even in the real world! So, I can record my first track free of tempo, then record the other tracks sync to this one! That's awesome and I really need this! But there is more awesome.... I can record this first track free of tempo, then play the Rhythm track sync to it! Thanks to the Autodetect Tempo feature! This is just awesome!!!!! You can also set the track length for each track independently, decide if a track will stop if you play another one... You can decide that 2 tracks will stop when 2 others will play. You can decide of everything. How a track will play or stop, when, same for the Overdub recordings.... There are so many options.... But it's not too much, because when you are playing live, eaxh songs needs a particular set up and this is the reason why I love and need so much QuantiLoop Pro! I can not describe here all the possibilities offer by QuantiLoop, but you can check out the tutorial below.. Don.t hesitate to contact me if you need help. Before to conclude, there is another thing that I need on stage. It's to be able to control all commands with my 2 Pedalboards and expression pedals. My Blueboard send MIDI CC and PC and my 12 Steps MIDI notes... No problem with QuantiLoop Pro... To conclude: QuantiLoop Pro is awesome because of that, a lot of parameters to know and set before to use it. QuantiLoop is like a powerful workstation... The BeatMaker of the Looper and because of that you have to take a little time to learn it before to use it. A Killer App, a Must Have!
Review by Ed Warning! When I am making the Let's open it together post, I don't know the App... I also didn't read the App Store description before... So, I want to apology if I am saying mistakes or if there are "lengths" in the Video or in my writing below. Check out the App Store description at the end of this post... If you have this App feel free to add infos, clarification, even to injury me (not too much) in the comment section below... Concept: a Looper. A Looper like no others in the App Store because it allows you to create groups. To recall them as you like. Great for live! First impressions: Excellent! It looks like I was expecting and more.... Sound quality: no sounds Audio Processing: I only added a Reverb during this demo... I don't know if it'spossible to slow down or speed up loops... Features: Ableton Link, Audiobus, IAA, Core MIDI, and Audio Unit Host is on the way. It seems that you can create as much group as you like. Master group too. After I made this video I discovered a Drum track.... UI: Very comprehensive. It doesn't looks like a Gas Manufacture unlike a lot of others Loopers... Drag & Drop, Swipes seems to be used a lot to make this App very easy to use. Conclusion: The concept is really awesome. The App very very well done. There are a few things that I want to know now like: Istagram it possible to paste a Sample from the pasteboard, is it possible to monitoring or not a tracks... I will check that... Before my review, I will wait the next update that will be released shortly, but at this moment I think that Group The Loop will integrated my Live setup! Group the Loop will be updated very shortly with big improvements. i am always saying that Quantiloop Pro is the Best Live Looper available in all Galaxies... Before my review, a preview... I am very old now... I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Dozen of girls and boys around me... I remember this day when Audiobus was released in the App Store... A big revolution! All around the world, million of musicians in the streets, sound engineers, Producers, Videos editor... It was crazy... For the first time we were able to connect Apps together with internal audio busses. Today, this first version of Audiobus no more exist. Today, we have Audiobus 3! Unlimited internal Audio Busses. An Audio Mixer, A MIDI Router, a Ableton Link remote, an Audio Units host, and a App State Recorder! Each time you connect 2 Apps together (Audio or MIDI), an audio bus is created. An Audio Bus it's a stereo channel with a rack for the inputs and the inserts and 1 slot for an output (by default, the master output of your iDevices). In each rack you can add as much Apps as you like and that your iDevice can support. You can mix in a same rack Audiobus and Audio Units Apps. You can also send the output in another App. A new bus will be created... As much as like and that your iDevice can support... The MIDI routing page works the same way... It's so easy to set your MIDI set up that even my 6 months old son can do it. (Not that I am not totally sure to have a son...) The Mixer allows you to Mute, Solo, Pan and set the volume of all the Busses that you have created. Now 2 things that are not details... The remote transport that you can find in all the Apps loaded into Audiobus... It's just awesome! I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Thousand of girls and boys around me, I sent a Tweet to Audiobus asking them if it was possible to add an escamotable MIDI keyboard to this remote... I still think that it could be a good idea... And the State Saver is just... So coooooooool! When you have finish to work with all your Apps, you don't need to save the state for all of them... Simply save your Audiobus session. This is so awesome that for my live, even if I don't need Audiobus for a track I am performing, I use it just to recall all my Apps state! To conclude: Generally when I do a review, I do not like to talk about another App. it's a bit like giving an Oscar for the best movie, you're talking about another movie. But this time I will make a " Une entorse à la règle " in french, "sprain to the rule" in English because in many websites, I can read: Audiobus vs AUM. for my part, there is no vs between these two apps. There is rather a big ♥ ️ Audiobus is my Nieve and AUM my SSL As I am a very lucky guy, I can connect them together. A Killer App!, a Must Have!
Review by Ed Audio ShareIn the French App Store description lot of reviews talk about a problem with Audio Share... no output signal.. ??? As always with Audio Share and all recording Apps , you have to enable the monitoring option. Concept: 8 Audio Units Apps. 8 sequencers. I try to remember... Arpeggiator, Bassline, Rhythm, Cells, XOX, LFO, X/Y, and... and?. Check out the App Store description below. I can't remember the last one... Ah... OK... Particles! First sensations: wahoo!!!' Yeh!!!! Too! Cool! Sound quality: No audio Audio Processing: no Audio Processing Features: I already say this, but this time you can really check out the App Store description because there are some of these names module that intrigues me a little bit.... UI: as usual with Bram Bos. Perfect, clean, easy to understand, easy to use..
Looptunesdj is top! This App is not for Djs only. Musicians can use it too! Hopefully because I am the worst dj available in all Galaxies! (The Sunday Contest video is one more example of this... But despite this you can see how the Apps works...) So, LooptunesDJ comes with 2 identical "surfaces" on the left and right side. On the top, the Decks. Tempo Auto Detected / Tempo x2 or /2 / Offset slider / 4 cues (you can move a cue to another cue slot) and 6 loops ( 1, 2,4,8,16 or 32 bars). Below the Pads: 16 per surfaces. 4 channels for each surface (4 Pads per channel). LooptunesDJ comes with a lot of loops but much more are available in the online store. You have 20 credits. 1 loop = 1 credit. You can also import your own loops with Audiocopy or Audio Share. You can also record a loop to a Pad with Audiobus, the built in microphone of your iDevice or an external hardware. A great feature allows you to record your master out to a single Pad.. Great because of all the effects and parameters that offer this App. Each Pad can be played from 5 different ways: bar, one shot, one shot raw, note on, note on raw. You can also drag a Pad to another slot, even the other surface. A keyboard allows you to play the sample same as with a Sampler. For each surface, we have a Mixer. A volume for the deck and all Pads with a 3 band EQ for each. Each Pad can be sent to a Filter, a Delay and a Reverb. The deck can be send to a Fx slot too. 2 big expression Pads, one for each surface allows you to play live with all the Fx available. Also and this is really awesome, each Pad comes with its own "Channelstrip" named Macro here. A small expression Pad for a filter (Bandpass, Highpass and Lowpass). 1 slider for the LFO amount and one for the speed. Also a distortion (a good one) a volume, a pan and a pitch. Below the crossfader allows you to switch or mix the 2 surfaces together. LooptunesDJ can be controlled by a sequencer, an external Pedalboard or else. (MIDI implementation with MIDI sync and learn). It also comes with the Ableton Link feature. Below, you will find the tutorial and 3 videos. The first one, I made it today. A little tutorial. The second one was made for the Sunday Contest. A weird mix, but you can see the powerful of this App. The last one was made for the Let's open it together post. To conclude, this App is very versatile. The processing quality for the effects is really great. The App is very easy to use even if you have to know some little tips to have a real big fun with it. (Check out the tutorial) I love this App! A Killer App! A Must Have!
Review by Ed A very big KAP to Sugar Bytes GmbHConcept: Monophonic synthesizer First impressions: top! I like it! I think that Cyclop will stay in my iPad... I think that I will be able to create awesome Bass line or synth ambience totally "stick" to my Drum pattern.... Sound quality: Excellent! Audio Processing: Seems to be really awesome! Features: Euh.... A lot... Better that you check the App Store description below.... (But I already love the module in the center of the screen with seems to be link to all parameters... The seuencer with the 2 timelines for the Fx section.... Really awesome!) UI: Cyclope seems to be "easy" to understand, and I love to have a colour code in an App and in everything... (Asperger syndrone...). Sometimes I have a little problem with Sugar Bytes Apps, because of the small UI (even if they offer everytime the possibility to zoom in a module with a double Tap). But not this time... The UI is big enough, so it's cool for old hypermetrop man. The preset library UI is awesome... Note: Because I don't know the App when I am making the video, it's possible that I am saying wrong things... Big mistake... (I men, much more than usual...) So if you have this App, if you know this App, feel Free to leave a comment in the comment section below.... App Store description:
Cyclop now available on the iPad – ready to unleash monstrous bass sounds to the mobile world. Cyclop is a monophonic synthesizer. It does one thing very well: delivering cutting-edge digital madness at the low end of the frequency spectrum. Cyclop is the master of subs, beautifully controlling even the lowest notes, always sounding stomach-rumblingly thick. It uses mid/side processing to introduce stereo imaging between 250Hz and 4kHz. This ensures wide, interesting sounds that retain their punch and bass. There are no phasing issues, which means Cyclop cuts through the mix very nicely. Enjoy an incredible depth of sound design possibilities, great real-time control with the Wobble Knob and FX knob. Integrated effects sequencer, vast modulation system and the preset browser will take your inspiration to new levels. The interface has been improved for touch performance and the overall cpu usage has been reduced. - Monophonic Bass Synthesizer - 6x2 Synthesiser Engines, 10x2 Filter Engines - Analog Sync, FM, Sample Transformer, Spectromat, Saw Regiment, Phase Stressor - Vowel Filter Mode - Free Signal Flow for 2 Oscillators, Filters and Distortions. - Incredibly versatile modulation system - Multi FX Knob/Sequencer - powerful Preset Browser with tagging and rating - Full MIDI Support (Virtual, Network, External) - Music Library Access (Transformer Oscillator) - iTunes File Sharing - Inter-App Audio - Audiobus - Ableton Link DJ Mag: “It is decidedly digital-sounding, but not in a bad way, and as the growing list of fans proves, it can be turned to good use in just about any electronic genre, past, present and (probably) future.” Rating: 9.5/10 Producer Spot: “Very good for his complexity, very versatile and easy to use if you need sub bass sound for your productions. Sugar Bytes offers High quality and good prices with all their products.” Rating: 9.5/10 Computer Music: “Anyone will find it powerful and unique-sounding, adding spice to existing tracks and inspiring new ones.” Rating: 4.5/5.0 What's NewPerformance improvements Minor bug-fixes |
