SwitchChord Below my review... I think that it was the v1 of this App... SwitchChord is no more available in the App Store.... Even in my Purchases... Below my review. A sad day today.... SwitchChord is a guitar chord dictionary. This App doesn't work like most of the other guitar chord Apps. Here you choose a Scale first and the root note. This done, you will be able to view all the chords associated with the chosen Scale. (Included Chords: Major, Minor, 7 & m7). I really love the principle. I also really love the UI because you can see the fingering on a drawing. Another page will show you the chord on a guitar tab. You can also listen to the selected chord. To conclude, SwitchChord is very well done, original and useful, very nice also, so I have no hesitation in rating it.... A Killer App! (More chords and features should be available soon )

Since I made this review, the App has been updated only 1 time, but it was this year, in March. So no problem for MovableChord the developer still working on it... If I post this Flashback today, it is for a good reason... You will understand why this next Sunday.... This is the App Store description: MovableChord plays basic chords on root notes in a diatonic scale. It helps you hear the chord and the chord progression, and learn each note. It's also a good tool for learning to read music with scale degrees. Use it for searching/learning chords for a tune, building your solos from chord tones, or for studying music theory. - Beautiful acoustic piano sound - Select a root note (and a chord type if needed) to play a chord - Easy chord playing with Auto Select Feature (Diatonic Triad/7th) - Play arpeggio with Chord Tone Pads - 4 scales available (Major, Natural/Harmonic/Melodic Minor) - Choose a type of scale degree labels (Arabic/Roman numerals or movable do) - Key Transpose Feature * MovableChord can take non-scale tones as root notes. All the things written there are right. When I launched the App for the first time and started to play with it, a new song idea came to me. My only regret is that they haven't included a chord diagram. If I want to use MovableChord as a studying tool, the Virtual Midi, I prefer to use it as a MIDI Chord controller App or a little sequencer to use it as a backing track App to rehearse my guitar solos. Despite this, MovableChord is very well done with a very nice UI.Hard to rate it... A very very good App! Review by Es Version 2.0 What's New 28 Mar 2017 - Ul renewal: The Ul has been integrated with Chordy / MlD|Chordy - The sound source and pronunciation logic has been renewed. Below, the new App Store description.... MovableChord is a unique application specialized for playing basic chords. You can check and play the sound and progress of the chord with the sound of a beautiful acoustic piano. Use it for searching/learning chords for a tune, building your solos from chord tones, or for studying music theory. - Select a root note (and a chord type if needed) to play a chord - Easy chord playing with Auto Select Feature (Diatonic Triad/7th) - Individual chord tones can be played using Chord Tone Pads - Octave Shift (from -2 to +2) - 4 scales available (Major, Natural/Harmonic/Melodic Minor). Select Parallel or Relative scale change between major/minor. - Key Transpose Feature - Latch Mode Feature : a chord sustains until another chord played (Chord Tone Pads are not affected by Latch) • Check out how to play it: "Chordy 紹介ムービー (Introduction of Chordy v1.0)" http://youtu.be/qaVR2FG-G60 "MovableChord 紹介ムービー (Introduction of MovableChord v1.0)" https://youtu.be/u2vi-tLomvo "MovableChord" https://youtu.be/fjmiKhnE19k * MovableChord has no connection feature. If you need it, please check "Chordy" or "MIDIChordy". When I made the review of SeekBeats, I add a dream... My dream was exhausted with the release of the 1.2 version. Since this time the developer never stopped to update his baby. SeekBeats is an awesome Drum Synthetiser, really... A KILLER App! A Must Have! At this moment the price of SeekBeats dropped from 11.99 to 6.99, a good opportunity for those who don't have this App... Apps4idevices review: Published on Sep 27, 2013 Have you come across this Drum Machine? I hadn't until yesterday,... And it is a major blunder because this Drum Machine is simply great! 8 tracks for 8 drum instruments or... Yes, or... Because you will be able to shape your sound like if you were working on a synthesizer: 2 oscillators, 1 Filter, 1 distortion and a chorus. You can also choose your waveform, and work (Draw) on the envelope. At the end, when once you're happy with your sound, you wiil be able to copy it and / or save it to the (big) sound library. If you didn't manage to create a sound that you like, you have even even use the random mode. This mode allows you to randomize the sound of each track at the sale together or separately. You can also decide the level of variation, if it will affected by all the parameters or only some of them... If you hear something that you like, take a snapshot of the current settings. A Pad mode is also available. The X axe will determine the level of your drum. A live record mode is also available. To conclude, I really love it, and am keeping it. My only wish would be to have Virtual Midi in a future update. A Killer + Drum Machine! OS >= 8.3 When I started my review of applications for djs, I used to say that you were going to have to deal with the worst dj of all the galaxy ... I believe that this video is the real proof of this... DJ Dex has not been updated since this version, that to say end of 2013 ... at the time it was not a Super App, today it is better to zap it... Apps4idevices review: DJ DEX - The DJ Mixing App is a "Classic" Dj App. Its highlights are its simplicity of use, the Auto Detect BPM feature, MotionPlaying™: place your iPad on a turntable and scratch any song (requires an iOS device with a gyroscope) and a very nice UI. Its shortcomings: the effect section. No parameters to set, no small or big Pad, just 3 buttons to push. To conclude, DJ DEX is very well done but a little bit limited. A good App. App Store description:: DJ DEX turns your iPad into veritable DJ software solution that rivals features including in top professional DJ applications. Automatic BPM Sync, interactive beat-grid based waveform's (grab-spin-scratch), pitch/tempo control, scratching, quantized seamless looping, effects and more are candy for your fingertips. DJ DEX supports mono split output, so you can easily monitor each deck in your headphones just like a traditional DJ setup. Created by PCDJ with over 13 years of experience in designing DJ software for professionals, DJ DEX is not a game - See for yourself and take it for a spin! Key Features: + 2 DJ DECKS and a Mixer + Hands-on manual mixing or hands-free automation + Pitch/Tempo Control + BPM Snap-To-Beat Mixing + Seamless quantized looping + Automatic Beat-Grid based BPM detection + High-Quality effects (Break, Flanger, Echo) + Interactive waveforms that allow you to scratch, pitch bend, reverse play, backspin, etc + iPod library browsing and search + 3 hot cues can be set per deck, with cue-play + MotionPlaying™ - place your iPad on a turntable and scratch any song (requires an iOS device with a gyroscope - like iPad 2, the new iPad) + Many settings and built in help + Free updates! DJ Controller Support: + Numark DJ2GO and Akai LPD8 controllers supported (no configuration needed, but you do need the iPad Camera Kit connector) Maximize DJ DEX for performance: + Turn on “Flight Mode” when doing live mixes + If you need both speakers and headphones preview, use a special inexpensive “splitter” that splits the headphones output so that the left channel will go to the speakers (master output) and right channel will go to the headphones (monitor) OS >= 4.3 Music Box Composer was and it's still the best Music Box App in the App Store. Unfortunately the App stopped to be developed in June 2014. After my last review, 2 more updates were released. The App was really beautiful, the generating sound... A real Music Box. The built in sequencer, very powerful with lots of great features. I was beta Tester for this App, and I remember some discussions with its developer... He was a real fan of Music Box instrument, and because of this, he wanted to make an App the closest as possible as a real Music Box instrument... A lot of respect for this developer... Apps Store description: Create your own Music Box music, and easily share your compositions with others. Designed to aid composing your own music prior to punching the paper strips for Music Boxes, MBC allows you to compose, preview, play, save and share your creations via Twitter, Facebook, Email or iTunes file transfer. A small but growing library of Music Box Strips can be viewed here, via webplayer or loading into MBC on device: http://www.jellybiscuits.com/?page_id=763 Demo of composing, printing, punching an playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWxkoHcPbS0 - Supports 15, 20 and 30 note music boxes. - Share your compositions with others via Facebook, Twitter and Email. - Multiple undo - Disable Notes for temporary changes - Ripple edits - Save and Load (access the save location via iTunes File Sharing) - Sounds sampled from physical Music Boxes - Save strip to PDF/JPG file. The physical Music Boxes with the paper punch strips and are great fun - what I found was missing was an easy way to preview either transpositions or original creations. This aims to fill that gap but it's also a fun music creation tool in it's own right. Rated as a Killer App by Apps4iDevice. Note that there is a desktop version of MBC available from the Mac App Store, as well as desktop versions for other OS's from the Jellybiscuits site. OS >= 4.3 Apps4idevices review v2.11 Published on 4 Aug 2012 Music Box Composer is very well done & the sound is really good. The Edit mode is really easy to use, with some clever options. You can share your Song on Facebook, Twitter and Email. If a friend of yours has installed Music Box Composer on his iDevice, he will be able to play your Song with the Music Box 3D player and if you had checked the "Allow Editing" button before to share your Song, he will be able to Edit it! For me, the only drawback is the tempo mode which doesn't displayed the bpm (i know that with a "real" Music Box it is really hard to play in time but...). When i've begun to do my demo, i wanted to record No Surprise from Radiohead... Then i realized that there were no sharp & flat notes. So i wrote a email to the developer. Here is his answer: There are no sharps and flats because the scale matches the physical music boxes with paper strips that you can purchase - there is also a 20 note paper strip music box, also with no sharps or flats. I've been thinking I should offer half notes that are 'illegal' for the music boxes, but allow you to compose whatever you want, since I can do anything on the device, so a future version will allow this. Copy and paste is high on my list too. So, Musical Box is a Super App! With this future update it will certainly become a Killer App.
LoopticalLooptical is a powerful workstation. When I made its review a long time ago, it was an iPhone App only. A few months later Looptical became an universal App and until oct 2015 a lot of updates and features were released. |
