Do you know Xynthesizr? An awesome unique sequencer… Shoom synthesizer comes from the same developer, so it should be awesome and unique too. Let’s see it. First, it’s not 1, but 3 identical expressive XY pad synthesizers in this App. The blue, the pink and the orange one. Notes are displayed in a circle with a color associated to the corresponding Synthetiser. An empty circle means that the notes will stop when you will lift your finger (s). A plain circle is an Hold note and will held even if you lift your finger. (Double-tap a plain note to stop it). Did you realise what it means? No? It means that you can play 2 bourdons with 2 of the Synthesizers while you are playing a melody with the third one (adjustable polyphony up to 30 voices), and because Shoon is not a little synthesizer, the possibilies are awesome. Now let's see the Synth angine:: two oscillators with 4 waveforms and PWM, plus one noise generator. 4 pole (24db/octave) resonant low pass filter with overdrive and pitch tracking. An oscillator FM cross modulation. 2 variable slope ADSR envelopes for amplitude and filter cut-off. 2 LFOs with 9 waveforms, up to 3 out to 12 simultaneously assignable parameters, trigger and global running modes, fade in and phase controls. Y axis position as modulation source with up to 3 to 15 simultaneously assignable parameters. Notes pan randomizer a stereo delay and a Reverb! The ribbons now. 20-20,000 Hz pitch range. Slide freely or snap noted to Scale with adjustable grid rate. it can play any pitch and can deliver anything from common 12 tone equal tempered to xenharmonic and Microtonal. There is also a Scale library where you can create your custom scales too. In summary, Shoon it’s 3 powerful synthesizers that you can use in live to jump from a preset to another. It can be used like a Drone too. It’s a creative and versatile App that I really love A Killer App, a Must Have!
