Mersenne is a melodic percussion synthesizer that combines two FM synthesis modules, a noise generator and a resonator. With simple operation, you can easily create a clear bell sound with complex attack sound. ## What's New in Version 2 - Universal App : Optimized for iPad and iPhone - Audio Unit Extensions (AUv3) compatible - Support for Audiobus State Saving - Exporting and importing of presets via Share extensions - Add Swing parameter to the arpeggiator - Improved MIDI mapping function - Support for Bluetooth MIDI Devices - Add Grain and Attack parameters to the Noise ## Synthesizer Engine * Tone A/B: FM Synthesis * Noise + Filter * Resonator * Chorus * Delay * Reverb ## Key Features * Universal App Optimized for both the iPad and the iPhone. * Audio Unit Extensions (AUv3) You can use in a host application that supports Audio Unit such as GarageBand. * Inter-App Audio You can stream live audio directly to other Inter-App Audio host applications. * Audiobus support You can stream live audio directly to other Audiobus-compatible apps. See https://audiob.us for more information. * Ableton Link Ableton Link is a new technology that synchronizes beat, phase and tempo of Ableton Live and Link-enabled iOS apps over a wireless network. See https://www.ableton.com/link/ for more information. * MIDI - Core MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI, Virtual MIDI, Inter-App Audio MIDI input - MIDI Clock synchronization - MIDI Controller Mapping * Programmable Arpeggiator You can easily create your own pattern. This is the App Store description.... So, now, my turn to talk… Mersenne is a “small” synthesiser. Small means that you can not do everything with it, as a big analog bass sound or pads… small because you don’t have a lot of pages, menu, or else in this App… but small doesn’t mean less than a big one. for example, a Porshe is smaller than a Peugeot but is a hundred times better... so when you're small, you have to be different, particular, unique, recognisable… if you ask me: I want a small car that can go very fast… I will answer a Porshe. If you ask me: I need a small synthesizer that can generate cold sounds, percussive sounds. I will answer Mersenne! Yes… if you need this, no doubt, Mersenne is the One! I love it! Easy to use, easy to create a beautiful percussive sound with a little taste of East Asia in 10 seconds. It also comes with an Arpeggiator, a great Arpeggiator and this is really cool for a synthesizer that generates percussive sounds! The midi learn function allows you to control all parameters with another App or external hardware… so… A Killer Synthesizer! A Must Have! (I really love the generated sound…)

PRFORM - 9 Synths 16 Pads PRFORM - 9 Synths 16 Pads and a 4 tracks looper PRFORM - 9 Synths 16 Pads and a 4 tracks looper / with – Delay – Reverb – Chorus – Clip – Bit-Crusher PRFORM - 9 Synths, 16 Pads trigger-able via MIDI and Audiobus Remote, a 4 tracks looper / with – Delay – Reverb – Chorus – Clip – BBit crushed PRFORM - 2 leads synths, 1 bass synth and pad synth + 5 synth drum modules (bass, clap, snare, hi-hat, and noise) / 16 Pads trigger-able via MIDI and Audiobus Remote, a 4 tracks looper / with – Delay – Reverb – Chorus – Clip – BBit crushed As you can see, I have changed a little bit the name of this App… Perhaps a little bit too long, but at the same time, it’s a good description of what this App can do. Now, for who this App is, and what can you do whit it? For who? For everyone, even people who don’t know music or synthesisers, everybody can have fun with it. First because the App is very easy to use and secondly because of the 9 dedicated synthesisers. Yes, and I need to explain why a little bit… for example, if you want to change the kick sound, you can set all the parameters as you like, no problem, a kick will be play, same for the snare, the Super Saw and all the other synths. What can we do with it? Record an idea on the go. PRFORM doesn’t use samples, because of this it doesn’t use a lot of room in your iDevice… Use it for live performances as a Soundboard which can be controlled with an external keyboard. As a little Drum Machine. As a Drone… In fact you can find a lot of way to use it… In Summary: PRFORM is very well done, and very easy to use, despite of this, it is not so easy to rate it… I am a Pro musician and because of this I can have some frustrations with it… why can I play only 3 bass notes, 4 super saw notes, 5 drum instruments,…. This can be a little bit frustrating…. So, why not à Pro Version of PRFORM with the ability to set he number of Pads for 1 Synth as we like? With the ability to copy a Pad from a Preset to another? … a Super App!
Review by Ed Every time I get an App, I'm all excited. I download it and start playing with ... This also allows me to know how long I will need to do the tutorial, (Yes, I have to manage between the big Apps and the smallest ones to be able to post every day.) So a week ago, I downloaded Beatonal and started playing with ... in parenthesis I had a lot fun of with it, and had to force myself to return to my current review. My first impression was: it looks like Figure, better ... so, I closed Beatonal, and thought I would make its review fast, a day when I will have a big App's tutorial to do .. Three days ago, I opened Beatonal again, and started to get a little more in ... actually it's not a small App! A Figure like for Pro musicians also ... I explain .... you have 4 modules, Drum, Bass, Chord and Lead. For the Drum Machine, 8 pads: repeat notes pads (you can set the number of repetitions for each of them). You can assign a parameter to the vertical axis and select a sample for each of the Pads independently. You can also manage the volume, play the sample in reverse mode, tune it and set its decay and glide. For each Drum instrument, an Overdrive and a Bitcrusher. A Master Aux with a Delay and a Reverb effects. Until there, nothing very different from Figure, excepted that Beatonal comes with a Midi Sequencer,(12 bars max) and a Grid editor ... a real one ... and that's great! This Grid editor, we find it on all other modules. For the Bass, Chords and Lead modules., 2 oscillators including one with an ADSR. A Pitch, AM / FM and FX section also. (Reverb, Delay, Bitcrusher, Low Pass, Chorus, and Formant). The keyboard of the Chords module is different from the others, since it allows you to play 7 inverse chords on one key! It also come with an Arpeggiator. The cherry on the cake: is that you can use the Sequencer to control another App! In conclusion: 1 drum Machine and 3 super synthesisers! I do not have much to reproach to Beatonal, except maybe that it is not Audiobus or Inter App compatible ... really a great App, or rather a Killer App!
Review by Ed CHAiOS SYNTH 2 is a synthesizer that generates 16 step of random melodies. Move or simply tap the dedicated Pad with your finger to create a melody. More you use the right side of this Pad, more your melody will be complex. More you move your finger to the top, more higher notes will be played. When you are happy with a melody, tap the Loop button. You can continue to use the Pad to add a “fill” to this melody, or generate a new one during all the time you hold your finger on the Pad. You can add a 1 bar Drum beat to the loop. 3 Drum’s instruments (Kick, HH & Snare), 2 sound presets. In the parameters window, you can asked the melody to play a Major, minor or a “melodic” scale. You can set its key as well. For the Synthetiser: 3 waveforms (Saw, Triangle & Square), an ADSR & a Filter. You can also add a Reverb and a Delay to the output signal. In Summary, CHAiOS 2 is very well done, very easy to use. It’s not a “big” App with lots of parameters, windows, settings despite this, I had a lot of fun by playing with it. A Super App!
