Review:This week I will post everydays a part of this tutorial... It's done, already... And it means that I know perfectly this App... (Excepted 1 little thing that I still not understand... Check it out in the Audio Track tutorial below..) 1 It's not the most powerful of the DAW, despite this: 3 inserts per track. Unlimited groups... Audiobus, IAA and AudioUnit (Intrument tracks and Fx) A lot of built in Plugins, others from the Shop. 2 It's not the most revolutionary UI, despite this: You don't need to read the User Manual, everything is simple... Not a lot if windows... A little bit like Protools... I love this... 3 It's not the most powerful Audio and MIDI Editor, despite this: One more time, for the Audio and MIDI Editors, no need to read the manual. Most of all the features I need are present. Perhaps the Time Stretching for an Audio Clip. I can also change the way I am writing... It's among and perhaps even the most "easy to use" Pro DAW from the App Store! It's my second DAW. And sometimes also my unique DAW. I am Beta Tester for Auria Pro, I have to install and uninstall it a lot of time. Auria is also heavy, and sometimes I need space in my iPad. So I remove it... But I keep Audio Evolution into my iPad. Audio Evolution is very study too... I need this.... A Killer App, a Must Have!
Review by Ed 1 Menu ProjectA real File browser... You can import easily MIDI and Audio from a project to another. You can Mixdown a project, send all rendered tracks to another DAW, export a MIDI file. Create and load Templates, Sure, load and save a Project... Import from Audio Share too... Overview and Tracks2 ways to create a Track:
Or you choose to import Audio or MIDI from another project. A track will be created . Or you Tap the + button located on the bottom right side of your screen. 4 choices here: Audio Track, MIDI Instrument Track, Drum Pattern Track or MIDI track. Note that I didn't understand how to create a Stereo Audio track... To create it, I import a stereo Audio file from Audioshare into Audio Evolution. All the tracks come with a Volume, a Pan, A input Routing, 3 inserts (Audio Unit or IAA plugins), 2 send to the groups (you can create unlimited groups). A 3 band EQ excepted for the MIDI Track. 1) Audio Track The input Routing allows you to insert an App. (Audiobus or IAA) Audio will be recorded. The track menu allows you to rename a track (You can also rename a track by a long tap on the note label.) To remove it. To move it up or down. To copy the track to the clipboard. To render the Audio to Audio File. 2) The MIDI Instrument Track It's exactly the same track as an Audio Track. Just after you have created it, you will have to choose the "Guest" App or the Audio Evolution built-in Sampler. (We will see this later) A shortcut on the trackhead allows you to switch to an IAA App or to the Audio Evolution keyboard if you have choosen an Audio Unit instrument. The Track menu displays the same things as the Audio Track plus a Translate by semitones, a Split Midi Channel and Merge All Clips features. This track record MIDI. 3 & 4) The MIDI track and the Drum Pattern tracks are the same. Only the MIDI Editor is different. (We will see this later) The Track menu is the sale as the MIDI Track instrument. The imput routing is for the MIDI destination and source.

I am so happy! All my favourite instruments in 1 App! (Excepted the Duduk...) 79 Indian instruments with an awesome sound quality! (I will post everyday 1, 2 or 3 instruments included in Swarplug. Here it's just the review of the App...) So, the sound quality is awesome but the number of samples for one instrument is awesome too! On the left side of the screen, the sound Library, the Store. Below an ADSR. On the middle, the Gain and Pitch parameters. A Global and a Fine tune knobs for the Master out. Below the same parameters for the left and the right channel. (This allows you to set a different pitch for some Drum instruments) And the right side, the MIDI Files... Here is also the awesome of this App! Each instrument comes with a lot of MIDI Files. First you choose a Raga, then a sequence. You will be able to share this sequence to another App (open in feature) and edit it! SwarPlug is a Stand Alone App that you can control via another App or external hardware but also an Audio Unit instrument.... It means that you can play a Philharmonic Indian Orchestra with it! It's awesome! This App will never leave my iPad. This is sure! A Must Have, a Killer App! A note: I have seen this App in the App Store before, but I didn't understand the potential of Swarplug... that this App was made for me... Because very old I am...
Review by Ed Stand Alone & Audio UnitTutorialSharing a MIDI File and create a Orchestra with x Audio Unit instancesiShala is an "electronic" Tabla machine for iDevices. A lehra player. It is always in my iPad since the day it was released. A long time ago, and with time it comes better and better. Like most of all Tabla machines, it comes with a: Tanpura (4,5 or 6 strings) If you have selected in the Settings menu the 5 or 6 strings, you will be able to set the note for second string. You can also set the first string for all Tanpura, specify the pause when plucking the strings and adjust the speed at which strings are struck. A Swarmandal, but here, you can set the notes included in the "scale" as well as the speed they will play, the time when they will play and the way they will play: ascending or descending. More, you can display the Swarmandal and play with it. The Tabla rhythmic will be determined by the tempo you have choosen. 7 Tempo are available, but they added a Tempo feature which allows you to define it in BPM. This is cool! The Harmonium, and this is not so easy to find in a Tabla machine, will play a different melody depending of the Raga you have chosen. Around 60 raga are available. You have a volume slider for the four instruments, and you can play them independently. iShala is Audiobus and IAA compatible.... Top! To conclude, iShala is among the best Tabla machine in the App Store. A Must Have, a Killer App!
I added the definitions of some words that you perhaps don”t know. Review by Ed I am so happy! LumBeat has just released the Mid East Drummer App! I am so happy because I am a Persian ! So, it's sure that I will not be really objective.... No,, not really... But... There are some new features that could excused me if I concluded my review like this: The best of the LumBeat's App! Yes! First, you can set the Time Signature when you are creating a pattern. (Assymetrical too! 7/8, 5/8, 15 / 16, 11/ 16 ..) Because of this, we can filter our search with a Time Signature (load a Pattern) There are also 2 tracks for the Cymbals and you can set the Ghost Rolls separately for each track (as well as the Jamming sensitivity) For each Percussions, 4 Samples. Now, for those who don't know,ow the LumBeat Apps.... It's a Drum Machine like no others. The best one! Because in each of these Drum Machines the developer has put a very litle human inside... And this human will play Rolls or Jam (play fills) all along your patterns... It's magic! There are also a page the "Live Pads" where you can assigned 8 patterns to 8 Pads. You will be able to control them via MIDI. There is a Song Mode too and a Sound Module mode with allows you to use all the LumBeat's Apps as a Sound Expander. And one other thing, everytime for each of his App, the sound is perfect. I forgot also the 4 effects: Compressor, EQ, Delay a,d Reverb. To conclude: East Mid Drummer is perfect! The Best of the LumBeat's Apps! A Killer,App, a Must Have!
Review by Ed M08 is now Audio Units compatible. The IAA version comes now with separate tracks. This is also very cool! The best Tr808 from the Apps Store! I have updated my rating too... A Killer App, a Must Have! Tap to check out the review here

Awesome! One thing that I really really love is the Slices to Pads (Create Pattern) feature! Check out the video demo! Also, the Mapping page is great... Fast and easy to understand. As usual you will be able to insert a lot of plugins to a layer or a Pad. Also use the ADSR or AHD... The recorder and the "Move to next Pad" feature is great! BeatMaker is very powerful. Certainly the most powerful DAW from the App Store. A lot of features, but once you know them, it's easy to navigate inside Beatmaker 3. Next Tutorial the Audio Track.
Edit Sample Page Here you will be able to edit your Audio files. First, you will have to select the Layer and the associated audio file. By a Tap on the Edit button, your audio will be displayed in full screen mode. Slice to Single or Multiple layers / Slices to Apple Loop Record Here also a great feature. You can auto assigned a new recording to the next Pad, in Synthesizer mode or not! ADSR OR AHD / 9 EQ Filters for each layers Layers Fx For each layer: Overdrive / SV Filter / Invert Phaser & Bit Crusher Modulations 1 more ADSR OR AHD per layer / the re trigger switch / Layer Gain & Tune setting Mapping I love this page. So easy to map your Sample on the keyboard! Plugin
You can insert an Audiobus, Audio Unit or IAA plugin to a Pad (More with Audiobus, AUM,... Check out below) After Funk Drummer, Rock Drum Machine 5, Soft Drummer and Super Metronome, here it is Brazilian Dum Machine. One of the 2 Percussions Drum Machine from LumBeat. (The other one is African Drum Machine, and I really hope that we will have the Asian One one of these days...). Here, 60 sounds / 30 different Percussions. 7 Banks: Bossa Nova, Afro, Samba, Batterie, Folclore, Forrô and Marcha. Also the user Bank where you will be able to save you rhythms. Around 100 rhythms! The sound quality is perfect, as usual with this developer. The App, awesome as usual with this developer. If it's the first time that you have a look at a LumBeat App, check out the review below and the other videos demos. (The Funk Drummer video shows you how to use the Jam Mode with an external Pedalboard.) A Killer App, a Must Have!
A very long time ago, in the previous millennium, there was no computer, so we had to record a real Drummer to make our recordings. In 1959, Wurlitzer released the first electro-mechanical drum machine called the Side Man, and a lot of others were released after. Cool for electronic music… In the middle of 1970, the first audio samplers start to arrive. With them and a lot of hours of programming, it was possible to “unused’ a Drummer during a recording session. When the iPad was released, some Drum Loop Apps were released. So cool, no more Audio CD with unnamed tracks, and no BPM… at this time, it was a revolution… in 2013, an App has been released: SuperMetronome Groovebox. I remember this day… I said to myself. “It’s not a metronome! It’s the future of the Drum Machine!“… Do you know the LumBeat Apps? I don’t know a better way to create a Drum track in 10 minutes. Not a Drum Machine track! A real Drum Track record with a real Drummer! Yes, I don’t the name of the Drummer, because he is super shy and always happens to hide in my iPad, but when I ask him to Jam on a pattern… wahoo… he jams! Yes, it’s crazy! And the worst, is that you can create your own patterns, select the sound for the 5 drums instruments, and ask the hidden Drummer to play a Fill when you like! Also, a Live Pads mode is available. 8 Pads, 8 patterns that you can control via Midi… A Song mode too. To conclude: There was before and after the LumBeat Apps. I am not kidding! It’s the ultimate Apps for creating Rhythms. I forgot to say 2 things: The sound quality of all the Sound Set is awesome! And 4 effects are also available: Compressor, Reverb, Delay, and EQ. My only problem is that I don’t know how to pay the Hidden Drummer after a recording… A Killer App! A Must Have! Review by Ed snap is a Drum Machine. A 8 tracks / 16 steps Drum Machine. A different Drum Machine. It's name comes from a unique feature. The Snap mode. (The magnet located on the top right corner of the screen) You program your pattern with 3 different ways. Check out the tutorial below. Snap will be Free! In App purchases: 1/ The ability to save your project 2/ The Midi implementation At this moment 18 Drum kits. More features will be added soon... Snap is great for live performances. Snap is very easy to use and allows you to create a pattern in a record time. More info soon.... Review by Ed A long time ago in this Galaxy, a developer released a Metronome’s App like no other. A so powerful Metronome with an awesome sounding that I used it at this time as a Audio Drum Loops generator! With time SuperMetronome received some new awesome features… First, SuperMetronome is a 3 tracks sequencer very easy to use. Select a Rhythm and a Sound from a bank. You can also modified the rhythm or create your owns. You can set the instrument playing for each tracks. Drum,, Percussions, Cymbals, Clicks,… you can set the volume and the pan for each tracks. At this moment it’s a Killer Metronome, but to be a Must Have or an Unique one, we need more… For the Must Have we have a Progressive Tempo feature! Set the Start and End Tempo, the number of Bars when the Tempo will change and to finish the BPM Snap value. Top! Awesome! For the Unique App from all the App Store, let’s talk about the beat Hider feature… Set the number of Bars a Rhythm will play. Press the play button. When the number of Bars will be reached SuperMetronome will stop to play a sound during the specified Bars number. Then it will restart! Really cool feature that I never seen before. In summary, SuperMetronome is not Super Metronome, but a Killer Metronome! A Must Have, an Unique one!
Review by Ed All the Apps from Twisted Electron have been removed from the App Store. I don't know why... Too bad... Published on 13 Sep 2013 The new App from twisted Electron, and my favorite one. STIX is a Drum synthesizer, and for me, the best in its category because of its ease of use and the number of parameters available to shape your sound. You can even draw your waveform and create a synthesizer sound if you like! STIX is a 16 channel (8x2 voices) sampling synthesizer and sequencer. Each of the parameters can be controlled via MIDI. STIX is also a 8 channel 16 step drum sequencer with recording functionality. The sequencer's 8 patterns can be chained into songs in Track Mode. A Killer App! Review by Ed |
