Svep is a Joy Division, a The cure and a Sister of Mercy. Euh, no, sorry, I restart… Svep is a chorus, flanger and phaser. 3 modulation effects used by my favourite bands when I was 15 years old… Hey, Don’t go! (Yazoo 1982). I know that for a lot of people these 3 effects sound eighties but no, not only… led Zeppelin used a lot of phazer on their drums, Lenny Kravitz too… Daft Punk uses a flanger effects in a lot of titles and a chorus is used by lot of artists and sound engineers even if you can not really listen to it. OK! Furthermore,, these 3 effects must be in the basic setup of all sound engineers and guitar players! Like a hammer for a carpenter! So, let’s go back to Svep now. The UI is great, the processed signal is perfect. You can use it as a Stand Alone App, anIAA, an Audiobus & an Audio Unit plugins… A link's switch allows you to work on the L & R channel independently. If not set, a mono to stereo fader is displayed. You know what, if I stop my review here, even if I say that Svep is a Killer App, a Must Have for all Sound Engineers & Guitar’s players, I am sure that some of you will say: I hate the Chorus, the Flanger and Phazer effects… so I will not say this now and will add something to this review. I told you that the UI was great… yes, with one slide (with one or two fingers) up, down left or right, you will no more remember that you are using a Chorus, a Flanger or a Phaser… and if you unlink the 2 channels… things become crazy… so much, that the developer has been clever enough to add 3 presets in the Preset library. a Chorus, a Flanger, and a Phaser to return to the basic: the Chorus, the Flanger, and the Phaser. Svep is a Killer App, a Must Have for Sound Engineers, Guitar Players, Sound Designers,… wait, the list is too long… A Must Have for all iOS musicians, and it’s Free!

This App seems to be no more developed, but is still available in the App Store. 2 minor updates after that I made this review. Published on 1 Oct 2013 FourierSynth Fourier Synthesiser allows students, engineers and musicians to study quantitatively the Fourier components of periodic waveforms. Real-time superposition of harmonically related sinusoids upto 15th harmonic can be viewed with the built in Time Domain display or alternatively viewed on an Oscilloscope connected to the audio stereo output. Those musically inclined can choose to listen to any two sinusoids or the sum of all selected sinusoids. Features: Select Sine and Cosine from fundamental to the 15th harmonic. See how convergence to the ideal improves with more components Fundamental frequency adjustable from 50Hz to 1kHz Individually control amplitude and On/Off state of each harmonic DC term available on iPad display Select from a range of 10 preset waveforms Square, Triangle, Sawtooth, Amplitude Modulation, Impulse, Half and Full Wave Rectification Monitor waveforms externally on an Oscilloscope or Listen to audio output Choose which sinusoid or 'sum' appear on display or audio output Listen to musical chords and hear the effects of phase change on their sound Use the full range of Swipe, Tap, Pinch, Tap&Hold Gestures tap harmonic component to toggle On or Off swipe up or down to set amplitude of each harmonic component, swipe faster for rapid adjustment, swipe slower for fine settting press & hold harmonic component to reset to previous amplitude change fundamental frequency with pinch in or out tap Time Domain display to toggle channel 1 On or Off pinch Time Domain display to change oscilloscope timebase swipe left/right to set horizontal position of oscilloscope display This is the App Store description. What can I add? Nothing... A little bit strict looking, but it is for students, so I suppose that's normal... :-). Review by Ed What's new In: 3.0 10 Oct 2014 Optimised for iOS 8 2.0 9 Oct 2013 Redesigned for iOS 7, aiso compatible with iOS 6 Play a melody and Auto Chord will follow you and will generate Chords with it’s built in synthesizer. This is great and sure that I will use it for my live show here in Bangkok. If I want to use it, it is first because Auto Chord works very well, no problem, it can follow my melody and generates a “good” chord. In the Setting menu, you can choose the Chord type that it will play. The built in Synthesizer works with a presets maps in the Synth window. Each presets change the timbre of the Synthesizer. In this window a pitch, a decay and a portamento switch… when you start to use them, things start to be really interesting. Very psychedelic too. I love Auto Chord. It is unique in the App Store. Sure that you can do the same by using few Apps, but you will not have this so particular Synthesizer sound that I really love and you will lost a lot of time. Auto Chord is a Killer App, a Must Have for your live performances!
Review by Ed Sorry for this What's hot today.... no more internet connection as I was posting it... The App of the Day is Narrow! I made it's review a long time ago, but in this galaxy. It'a modular Synthesizer and plugins effects too. Easy to use., a cheap price a good processing. A Killer App! Also, Musika is a SoundCloud for Free. (Unlimited upload and ended code!) I downloaded it after I had read the App Store description. Very excited I was (When I am very excited, I start to talk like a Jedï) Unfortunately impossible to upload a file from an iDevice. And this is too bad, because I don't have a Mac. .... When Apple released the iPad 1 I had 3 Macs. 1 iMac for entertainment, 1 Macbook for my bed and 1 Power Mac for my Protools HD. After the released of Audiobus and Auria, I decided to sell my Macs and to use iPads only. At the start of the year, I bought a Mac, a Macbook Pro.. I thought that I will save time when I am working for a Movie Casting here in Bangkok... No, I didn't save time... I tried also, Logic Audio Pro... I prefer to use Auria Pro. So, after 2 months, I sold it... if I talk about this, it's because all the things that you can see here, in this website are made with iPads only. I never use a Computer... I always try to find a way to use iPad only. For this reason, the new Sunday Contest page. I have to go, because this night I made a big mistake.. I deleted from my iPad my Modstep review... 80 pages of Tutorial lost... But it's OK, I will do it again, and sure that I will become the modstep expert of this galaxy! Have a nice day or night depending of where you are in the Galaxy! My best Ed Kap! Artic Keys is still alive and it's not a surprise for me because it never leave my iPad.... I love it.... Since this review below one big update and a lot of bugs fixed and improvements Published on 1 Oct 2013 Yes! Yes! And again Yes! Or Top! Great! And Awesome! With HyperOscillator 1! HyperOscillator 2 and 1 SubOscillator! And Super Saw! Super Square and Super Triangle! And Dual Filters! Vocoder! And Effects! And Arpeggiator! "Sequencer" and 2 XY Pads! Also the Virtual Midi, Wist, Sonoma AudioCopy, AudioShare, Open in, Soundcloud, Email, Wifi File Sharing and iTunes File Sharing! With Sunsine Audio and John 'Skippy' Lehmkuh presets! Arctic ProSynth is already one of my favourite synthesizers! Combine the 2 HyperOscillators, the SubOscillator and the SuperSaw, Super Square and Super Triangle to create fat sounds like I love, in a vintage style. Use the Dual Filters, and re order the routing of the 6 included Effects (Reverb, Eq, Distortion, Delay, Chorus and Phaser) to put the finishing touch and use the Vocoder to give a unique edge to it! Use the Arpeggiator with the 4 track Sequencer (notes, volume, filters... 30 parameters to choose from...) to create a unique sequence. Or use the Sequencer to play an impossible sequence with only one finger! But don't worry, if you can't manage to create the sounds you like, go and find a lot of great Presets in the built in Library, created by John Lehmkuh who used to work for Korg as a professional sound designer from 1988 - making patches, combinations, drum kits as well as creating the sample data for almost every synth Korg has released since the M1. And if you don't find your salvation here, go straight on to the Sunsine Audio Preset Library! For the other features: Audiobus, Sonoma AudioCopy, AudioShare, Open in, Core midi, Virtual Midi, Wist! Ok! Did I forget something...? Yes, I love it! I'm totally convinced by the sound types that you can generate with it! A Must Have! 1.4.0 |
