QuantiLoop Pro! A looper design for live performances...
My favourite one!
First, because I use to play guitar with a lot of effects.
With QuantiLoop, I have 4 inputs: 1 slot for the input source (an Audiobus, an Inter App or a physical hardware ) and a insert too (Inter App or Audio Unit plugins) for each of these inputs!
I can also decide to monitoring or not an input and set the routing for each tracks and this is really awesome... (Check out the video demo).
But, I need more effects to shape my guitar sound...
No problem, there is a FX rack for all the inputs sources. 3 others plugins can be added there (Inter App and Audio Unit).
More, QuantiLoop comes with a Reverb, a Delay a Compressor, a Gate and: a Transpose. The Transposer is just awesome... I don't neesd a bass guitar with it... . One more time, you can check out the video demo and listen how I turned my classical guitar into a bass guitar!
3 other Fx slots for the Master and tracks output: Half Speed, Fade, Reverse, Tape Stop, Double Speed, Compressor, Gate, Reverb, Delay and the awesome Transposer.
For the effects, I am OK!
Now, I have enough effects to be able to play with my classical guitar, but I need a Rhythm...
No problem, there is a Rhythm track where I can plug an Inter App or an Audio Unit Drum Machine! If I like I can also import a Audio sample, or play the metronome track.
If you have a BeatBuddy pedal, QuantiLoop will be able to control it!
Check out the BeatBuddy section in the tutorial below.
Now for the play modes..
A lot of possibilities here and 2 that I really really love...
Love and need!
First, you can play free. And this "simple" feature is not so easy to find in a looper, even in the real world! So, I can record my first track free of tempo, then record the other tracks sync to this one! That's awesome and I really need this!
But there is more awesome....
I can record this first track free of tempo, then play the Rhythm track sync to it!
Thanks to the Autodetect Tempo feature!
This is just awesome!!!!!
You can also set the track length for each track independently, decide if a track will stop if you play another one... You can decide that 2 tracks will stop when 2 others will play.
You can decide of everything. How a track will play or stop, when, same for the Overdub recordings....
There are so many options....
But it's not too much, because when you are playing live, eaxh songs needs a particular set up and this is the reason why I love and need so much QuantiLoop Pro!
I can not describe here all the possibilities offer by QuantiLoop, but you can check out the tutorial below.. Don.t hesitate to contact me if you need help.
Before to conclude, there is another thing that I need on stage.
It's to be able to control all commands with my 2 Pedalboards and expression pedals.
My Blueboard send MIDI CC and PC and my 12 Steps MIDI notes...
No problem with QuantiLoop Pro...
QuantiLoop Pro is awesome because of that, a lot of parameters to know and set before to use it.
QuantiLoop is like a powerful workstation...
The BeatMaker of the Looper and because of that you have to take a little time to learn it before to use it.
A Killer App, a Must Have!

When I am making the Let's open it together post, I don't know the App...
I also didn't read the App Store description before...
So, I want to apology if I am saying mistakes or if there are "lengths" in the Video or in my writing below.
Check out the App Store description at the end of this post...
If you have this App feel free to add infos, clarification, even to injury me (not too much) in the comment section below...
Concept: a Looper. A Looper like no others in the App Store because it allows you to create groups. To recall them as you like. Great for live!
First impressions: Excellent! It looks like I was expecting and more....
Sound quality: no sounds
Audio Processing: I only added a Reverb during this demo... I don't know if it'spossible to slow down or speed up loops...
Features: Ableton Link, Audiobus, IAA, Core MIDI, and Audio Unit Host is on the way. It seems that you can create as much group as you like. Master group too. After I made this video I discovered a Drum track....
UI: Very comprehensive. It doesn't looks like a Gas Manufacture unlike a lot of others Loopers... Drag & Drop, Swipes seems to be used a lot to make this App very easy to use.
Conclusion: The concept is really awesome. The App very very well done. There are a few things that I want to know now like: Istagram it possible to paste a Sample from the pasteboard, is it possible to monitoring or not a tracks... I will check that... Before my review, I will wait the next update that will be released shortly, but at this moment I think that Group The Loop will integrated my Live setup!
Group the Loop will be updated very shortly with big improvements.
i am always saying that Quantiloop Pro is the Best Live Looper available in all Galaxies...
Before my review, a preview...
There are a lot of loopers in the App Store. Some are very powerful but not so easy to use. Looperverse is a 16 stereo tracks looper very easy to use and very well done.
The UI looks like a classical DAW. 16 tracks, an handle to display the track volume, pan, delay and the reverb send. The parameters of these 2 built in effects can be found in the The settings menu page.
2 record modes by taping or holding the arm button present on all tracks: replace or overdub. Another mode, next track mode will be automatically set if no arm button has been enable. The loop length will be set automatically after your first recording or audio paste via AudioCopy. Note that this feature is really really cool for people who like to record free of tempo. If you have imported an Audio loop, the tempo will be automatically detected and set.
To edit an Audio file, it’s easy. It’s works like Protools or Auria. Pinch horizontally or vertically to zoom in or out the waveform. Drag the bottom left or right handle of a region to crop it. One of the handle above to time stretch. The top handle in the middle of a region to set the gain and the handle below to change the pitch.
Another great feature is the keyboard witch allows you to play a scene and change its pitch too with a simple tap on a key.
For the input: Audiobus, IAA, an external hardware or the built in microphone. In summary Looperverse is great for live. It can be control via Midi with an external hardware or with the Looperverse pedal. It is also great for composing or arranging a song, and practicing too.

This is my "coup de cœur" of this month!
I love this App! I really really love it...
If you are an old Apps4idevices reader, you already know that I am the worst DJ of this Galaxy, and certainly of the others too.
If you are a new reader, you will know it, later, but not today, even if Stereosun was created for Djs...
Not today because Stereosun is so different. It's not a classical DJ App. Musicians can use it. Worse, it could even become the centerpiece of a composer who likes to work with loops ...
Stereosun comes with the Ableton Link feature, so it can play in sync with your DAW, Drum Machine, sequencer,...
On the center of the screen, the board. You can drop six Suns ( Audio files player) to this board. The Tempo of your Suns will be synced automatically. (Sync mode enabled. You can also change the Tempo of your loops with a swipe). Move a Sun to the top of the screen to set a higher level, to the bottom for a lower. On the both sides of the board, a Low and high pass filter. Drag a Sun on the left side (behind the vertical left line) to apply the low pass filter, on the right side, behind the vertical right line to apply the high filter.
Swipe from up to down on the top of the screen to reveal the Loop editor. For one Sun you can set 6 loops or Cue points. (Loop length: 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 bar). Swipe again to reveal the second editor page. Here, you can adjust the start and end point of your loop, change its pitch, pan, level and apply a 3 bands EQ.
From the board, if you swipe on the the left side from the Left to the right you will reveal the effects page.
8 effects: Reverb, Delay, Flanger, Whoosh, Gate, Roll, High Pass & Low Pass.
Drag them to the board and connect them to the desire Sun. You can connect all the Suns to the same effects if you like.
A Pad allows you to set 2 parameters for each of the effect.
In use, it's Top, because you can check easily and fast which loop can work with a track you are composing.
A Drum Loop, or instrument loop...
A DJ will be able to add loops, effects to his mix also and use the Auto play mode whichis so great too.
I will conclude this review as I started it:
Stereosun is my "coup de cœur" of November!
A Killer App, a Must Have!
Audio Unit and more in a future update?
More info soon...
Live Chopz allows you to slice a song into sections then to play these sections in loop mode or not, to jump to a section to another (with a simple tap), to duplicate a section or re order them, to add a chopped song to the setlist library (to play all of them). (Auto-Advance to next song in SetList).
How it works?
First you have to import a track (mp3, wav,aiff,m4a,mp4 files.) into Live Chopz from another App, Audio Share, Dropbox, or iTunes files sharing. Then done you load your song. The Auto detect Tempo feature will detect the BPM of your track. Note that this feature works very very well. If your track has not a constant Tempo, no problem, you can set a different Tempo for each sections of your track manually or with the Auto detect feature Then done, you jump to the editor. You play your song and tap on the scissor tool to slice your track. Name each sections with pre-defined song section part labels or create a custom one. This done you sync the track to the metronome and your chopped song is ready to play.
To conclude, Live Chopz is very well done and very easy to use. The App is much more powerful that I thought the first time I launched it. Yes, a lot of editing features are “hidden” and this is really smart… because of this, you can chop a track very fast without to take care of all the others available features (if everything is OK). A remote is also available allowing you to connect wirelessly up to 7 devices. The remote displays the currently playing & upcoming song section.
Check out the tutorial to see all the available features.
A Killer App, a Must Have!

Samplebot, the new App from A Tasty Pixel!
A Tasty Pixel = Loopy HD! A looper that I am using with my 2 pedalboards every time that I have to play on stage…
So, Samplebot is also a looper, a 15 tracks looper.
... no, it’s not exact, it’s not a looper even if it can be use as this because of its Midi implementation. The same that you find in Loopy & Loopy HD with the add Binding & Action feature witch allows you to control it with an external App or hardware. Check out the tutorial below.
So, if it’s not a looper what is Samplebot? A Drum Pad!
Yes, it’s a Drum Pad!
. no, it’s not a Drum Pad because it comes with any sound excepted the Kick, the Snare and the HH that can be loaded from the funny and helpful introductory tutorial (if you are not able to record them with your voice). Note that you can plug Samplebot in the Audiobus Audio output Slot and record the input signal of another App or hardware.
So, if it’s not a Drum Pad it can not be Drum Machine even if it comes with a Sequencer. A Sequencer with a feature that comes from the Tasty Pixel Galaxy. A feature that we have never seen in our Galaxy before: The rhythmic template… (if you look at the Pads page, the 3 first Pads are white. They belong to the Drum group. In the Sequencer page, you select a rhythmic template and you paste it to the sequencer… in half a second Samplebot plays a Rhythm that you will be able to edit after like all the other tracks. Check out the videos demos.
So, if it's not a Looper, a Drum Pad, a Drum Machine what is Samplebot?
... yes it's a robot which comes from the Tasty Pixel Galaxy. A robot that can help you to create a Drum Track, a Song, in a record time and fun! A robot that you can beat to play Drums too. A robot who can be use as a looper too. It’s the 1.0 version of Samplebot, a lot of new feature will be add in the future, but it’s already an awesome App, a Killer App!
Stage Looper is not a Stage Looper recorder… it’s a Stage Backing track player. You can record an input signal into it but for creating your backing track only. You can also import a track by using AudioShare, Wifi or your iCloud Drive. How it works… first you create a new song. Set its tempo and Key. (By setting the key before to import a track or record a Sample you will be able to use the Capo feature... Transpose your Track depending of the key you previously enter), Then record or import a track. Then slice it, on the go if you like… if you have made a mistake, no problem. you will be able to join 2 slices together later. Then import the desired slices to your song. Name them, and set the the play mode. 1 time, 1 Loop but can be overridden to infinite loop by using a button named Act, and infinite loop until this Act button will be played. Once you song is ready to play, add it to your Set library and use the Live mode. Before to conclude… This App is for iPhone. This App doesn’t have a Midi implementation, but you can control the Act button with an external computer Keyboard… so, who can use the App? A singer, a keyboard player and all the musicians who has one free hand on stage. To conclude: Stage Looper is very easy to use and allows you to create a sequence for a backing track very fast. The Act button allows you to control this sequence and play free. Check out the video demo to see how fast I created a backing track with Stage Looper.... OK, sure, I am a Killer man, but I was using a A Killer App! Note the Free version of this App comes with the full features! The only restriction… 3 songs… Nice! So, a big thanks to the developer team!
