i am always saying that Quantiloop Pro is the Best Live Looper available in all Galaxies... Before my review, a preview...

You know how much I love you... No? For a week I am talking in the videos.. And it's just awful for me! I hate my voice, my French accent... Just horrible! And to show you how much I love this App, I did much more stronger.... I sang in this video... For the first time of my life! I am a musician who can play guitar... (I am not a guitar player...) On stage, I use a Keith McMillen 12 step Pedalboard. It's cool but... It can play chords but Inhave one octave only. Sure, I can switch to another octave but to do this, I have to tap 1 time to enter the set up mode, another time to switch to the next or previous octave and one more time to exit the setup mode... It means that I never switch an octave while I am playing a song... I can also set a Chord type, (but not a Chord progression) and to do this, I have to connect it to a computer... So, I am always using the default chord setting... And to finish, I had to spend hours to learn how to play a song with my foot, and sometimes both... But now it's an old story! Dream Foot is a a benediction... I am addicted to it! (The song I am singing in the video with some little changes.... Dancing Barefoot from Patti Smith) Dream Foot can be controlled with MIDI notes or CC. First good point! It comes with 2 modes. First a Jam mode: 24 Pads divided into 3 windows. To setup your chord,... 10 second... (Watch the video demo and check out the tutorial below) The Song mode... Awesome... Nothing has been forgotten! You create your song. Then a part (Stanza) with unlimited chords. You can copy a Chord (useful if you have created custom ones) and paste it before or after this chord or another one. You can also copy and paste a part. 16 parts are available. On the bottom 16 slots for 16 Songs. Top, easy, simple! The MIDI control available: For the Jam mode. Play a Pad and hold chords For the Song mode: Select a specific part, previous or next part, play next chord and next or previous song. 2 Taps max to play a desired Chord! Also, you can play one single note.. And you have this Play Next button... Do you understand what it means? Instead of assign chords to a Part, you assign all thre notes included in a melody you like to play. Then with one Tap on your Pedalboard you will be able to play a sophisticated melody at 200 bpm! (Dream Foot is also multitouch.... Jam mode....) To conclude: Dream Foot is awesome! So well think! So easy to use! So fast to setup! It can receive MIDI from multiple input and send it to,multiple output too! Dream Foot gives you 4 hands! A Must Have! A Killer App!
Review by Ed A very big Kap to this Jason Snell!Warning! When I am making the Let's open it together post, I don't know the App... I also didn't read the App Store description before... So, I want to apology if I am saying mistakes or if there are "lengths" in the Video or in my writing below. Check out the App Store description at the end of this post... If you have this App feel free to add infos, clarification, even to injury me (not too much) in the comment section below... Concept: MIDI Drone Machine First sensations: Top atmosphere! Sound quality: I love! Audio Processing: Features: 8 tracks / 1 pattern from? to 32 bars (I am not sure...) / possibility to set the Scale / MIDI in & out UI: very clean / it seems to be easy to use. But I am not sure that I have seen or understand all the potential of this App.... To conclude: I love the concept, the UI. I am sure that I will use it for my live performances... I really want to learn this App now... I will, post the review very shortly... Ed: first sensations A Drum Pads. 8 Pads. 12 Drum kits and more... First, the sound quality: I love the Drum Kits especially the Kicks and the Snares (Real Kit, Real Kit with Ride, Real Kit with Rimshot, Pop Kit, Rock Kit, Chemical, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Classic Rock and the Funk Kit ... Really... a little bit less for the Dance/Club because of the delay on the Snare, and not really the Percussion kit... Once you have selected a Kit, you can assign the instrument you like into a desired Pad. Twice and more if you like... This can be really useful because of the Autoplay feature... A clever Autoplay feature... Check out the tutorial below. You will also benable to set the volume independently for each Pad. (Note that the Pad will play louder if you tp its center). I forgot,... The Open HH will close if you tap the Close HH... Cool ! Also you can play along a song from your Music Library. You will be able to record your performances and share them via Audiocopy, emails, the Open in feature and more,... You can send them to the developer server. Your recording will be ready to play and download for everyone who will receive the link Here is a link where I played with all the kits: http://rhythmpad.com/rec/5a4eb7c698ac6 To finish, you can use Rhythm Pad Pro as a MIDI Controller via Wi-Fi or the Camera connection kit. To conclude now: I love the sound. I love the Autoplay feature. In the Drum Pads category, there is a few Apps very powerful.. For this reason only I can not say that Rhythm Pad Pro is a Killer App, a Must Have but despite this, it's a real Super App and with a little a bit more like the Core MIDI, the possibility to import our own samples... A Super + App!
Review by Ed I am very old now... I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Dozen of girls and boys around me... I remember this day when Audiobus was released in the App Store... A big revolution! All around the world, million of musicians in the streets, sound engineers, Producers, Videos editor... It was crazy... For the first time we were able to connect Apps together with internal audio busses. Today, this first version of Audiobus no more exist. Today, we have Audiobus 3! Unlimited internal Audio Busses. An Audio Mixer, A MIDI Router, a Ableton Link remote, an Audio Units host, and a App State Recorder! Each time you connect 2 Apps together (Audio or MIDI), an audio bus is created. An Audio Bus it's a stereo channel with a rack for the inputs and the inserts and 1 slot for an output (by default, the master output of your iDevices). In each rack you can add as much Apps as you like and that your iDevice can support. You can mix in a same rack Audiobus and Audio Units Apps. You can also send the output in another App. A new bus will be created... As much as like and that your iDevice can support... The MIDI routing page works the same way... It's so easy to set your MIDI set up that even my 6 months old son can do it. (Not that I am not totally sure to have a son...) The Mixer allows you to Mute, Solo, Pan and set the volume of all the Busses that you have created. Now 2 things that are not details... The remote transport that you can find in all the Apps loaded into Audiobus... It's just awesome! I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Thousand of girls and boys around me, I sent a Tweet to Audiobus asking them if it was possible to add an escamotable MIDI keyboard to this remote... I still think that it could be a good idea... And the State Saver is just... So coooooooool! When you have finish to work with all your Apps, you don't need to save the state for all of them... Simply save your Audiobus session. This is so awesome that for my live, even if I don't need Audiobus for a track I am performing, I use it just to recall all my Apps state! To conclude: Generally when I do a review, I do not like to talk about another App. it's a bit like giving an Oscar for the best movie, you're talking about another movie. But this time I will make a " Une entorse à la règle " in french, "sprain to the rule" in English because in many websites, I can read: Audiobus vs AUM. for my part, there is no vs between these two apps. There is rather a big ♥ ️ Audiobus is my Nieve and AUM my SSL As I am a very lucky guy, I can connect them together. A Killer App!, a Must Have!
Review by Ed Audio ShareIn the French App Store description lot of reviews talk about a problem with Audio Share... no output signal.. ??? As always with Audio Share and all recording Apps , you have to enable the monitoring option. Concept: 8 Audio Units Apps. 8 sequencers. I try to remember... Arpeggiator, Bassline, Rhythm, Cells, XOX, LFO, X/Y, and... and?. Check out the App Store description below. I can't remember the last one... Ah... OK... Particles! First sensations: wahoo!!!' Yeh!!!! Too! Cool! Sound quality: No audio Audio Processing: no Audio Processing Features: I already say this, but this time you can really check out the App Store description because there are some of these names module that intrigues me a little bit.... UI: as usual with Bram Bos. Perfect, clean, easy to understand, easy to use..
Looptunesdj is top! This App is not for Djs only. Musicians can use it too! Hopefully because I am the worst dj available in all Galaxies! (The Sunday Contest video is one more example of this... But despite this you can see how the Apps works...) So, LooptunesDJ comes with 2 identical "surfaces" on the left and right side. On the top, the Decks. Tempo Auto Detected / Tempo x2 or /2 / Offset slider / 4 cues (you can move a cue to another cue slot) and 6 loops ( 1, 2,4,8,16 or 32 bars). Below the Pads: 16 per surfaces. 4 channels for each surface (4 Pads per channel). LooptunesDJ comes with a lot of loops but much more are available in the online store. You have 20 credits. 1 loop = 1 credit. You can also import your own loops with Audiocopy or Audio Share. You can also record a loop to a Pad with Audiobus, the built in microphone of your iDevice or an external hardware. A great feature allows you to record your master out to a single Pad.. Great because of all the effects and parameters that offer this App. Each Pad can be played from 5 different ways: bar, one shot, one shot raw, note on, note on raw. You can also drag a Pad to another slot, even the other surface. A keyboard allows you to play the sample same as with a Sampler. For each surface, we have a Mixer. A volume for the deck and all Pads with a 3 band EQ for each. Each Pad can be sent to a Filter, a Delay and a Reverb. The deck can be send to a Fx slot too. 2 big expression Pads, one for each surface allows you to play live with all the Fx available. Also and this is really awesome, each Pad comes with its own "Channelstrip" named Macro here. A small expression Pad for a filter (Bandpass, Highpass and Lowpass). 1 slider for the LFO amount and one for the speed. Also a distortion (a good one) a volume, a pan and a pitch. Below the crossfader allows you to switch or mix the 2 surfaces together. LooptunesDJ can be controlled by a sequencer, an external Pedalboard or else. (MIDI implementation with MIDI sync and learn). It also comes with the Ableton Link feature. Below, you will find the tutorial and 3 videos. The first one, I made it today. A little tutorial. The second one was made for the Sunday Contest. A weird mix, but you can see the powerful of this App. The last one was made for the Let's open it together post. To conclude, this App is very versatile. The processing quality for the effects is really great. The App is very easy to use even if you have to know some little tips to have a real big fun with it. (Check out the tutorial) I love this App! A Killer App! A Must Have!
Review by Ed A very big KAP to Sugar Bytes GmbHConcept: Monophonic synthesizer First impressions: top! I like it! I think that Cyclop will stay in my iPad... I think that I will be able to create awesome Bass line or synth ambience totally "stick" to my Drum pattern.... Sound quality: Excellent! Audio Processing: Seems to be really awesome! Features: Euh.... A lot... Better that you check the App Store description below.... (But I already love the module in the center of the screen with seems to be link to all parameters... The seuencer with the 2 timelines for the Fx section.... Really awesome!) UI: Cyclope seems to be "easy" to understand, and I love to have a colour code in an App and in everything... (Asperger syndrone...). Sometimes I have a little problem with Sugar Bytes Apps, because of the small UI (even if they offer everytime the possibility to zoom in a module with a double Tap). But not this time... The UI is big enough, so it's cool for old hypermetrop man. The preset library UI is awesome... Note: Because I don't know the App when I am making the video, it's possible that I am saying wrong things... Big mistake... (I men, much more than usual...) So if you have this App, if you know this App, feel Free to leave a comment in the comment section below.... App Store description:
Cyclop now available on the iPad – ready to unleash monstrous bass sounds to the mobile world. Cyclop is a monophonic synthesizer. It does one thing very well: delivering cutting-edge digital madness at the low end of the frequency spectrum. Cyclop is the master of subs, beautifully controlling even the lowest notes, always sounding stomach-rumblingly thick. It uses mid/side processing to introduce stereo imaging between 250Hz and 4kHz. This ensures wide, interesting sounds that retain their punch and bass. There are no phasing issues, which means Cyclop cuts through the mix very nicely. Enjoy an incredible depth of sound design possibilities, great real-time control with the Wobble Knob and FX knob. Integrated effects sequencer, vast modulation system and the preset browser will take your inspiration to new levels. The interface has been improved for touch performance and the overall cpu usage has been reduced. - Monophonic Bass Synthesizer - 6x2 Synthesiser Engines, 10x2 Filter Engines - Analog Sync, FM, Sample Transformer, Spectromat, Saw Regiment, Phase Stressor - Vowel Filter Mode - Free Signal Flow for 2 Oscillators, Filters and Distortions. - Incredibly versatile modulation system - Multi FX Knob/Sequencer - powerful Preset Browser with tagging and rating - Full MIDI Support (Virtual, Network, External) - Music Library Access (Transformer Oscillator) - iTunes File Sharing - Inter-App Audio - Audiobus - Ableton Link DJ Mag: “It is decidedly digital-sounding, but not in a bad way, and as the growing list of fans proves, it can be turned to good use in just about any electronic genre, past, present and (probably) future.” Rating: 9.5/10 Producer Spot: “Very good for his complexity, very versatile and easy to use if you need sub bass sound for your productions. Sugar Bytes offers High quality and good prices with all their products.” Rating: 9.5/10 Computer Music: “Anyone will find it powerful and unique-sounding, adding spice to existing tracks and inspiring new ones.” Rating: 4.5/5.0 What's NewPerformance improvements Minor bug-fixes I am so happy! LumBeat has just released the Mid East Drummer App! I am so happy because I am a Persian ! So, it's sure that I will not be really objective.... No,, not really... But... There are some new features that could excused me if I concluded my review like this: The best of the LumBeat's App! Yes! First, you can set the Time Signature when you are creating a pattern. (Assymetrical too! 7/8, 5/8, 15 / 16, 11/ 16 ..) Because of this, we can filter our search with a Time Signature (load a Pattern) There are also 2 tracks for the Cymbals and you can set the Ghost Rolls separately for each track (as well as the Jamming sensitivity) For each Percussions, 4 Samples. Now, for those who don't know,ow the LumBeat Apps.... It's a Drum Machine like no others. The best one! Because in each of these Drum Machines the developer has put a very litle human inside... And this human will play Rolls or Jam (play fills) all along your patterns... It's magic! There are also a page the "Live Pads" where you can assigned 8 patterns to 8 Pads. You will be able to control them via MIDI. There is a Song Mode too and a Sound Module mode with allows you to use all the LumBeat's Apps as a Sound Expander. And one other thing, everytime for each of his App, the sound is perfect. I forgot also the 4 effects: Compressor, EQ, Delay a,d Reverb. To conclude: East Mid Drummer is perfect! The Best of the LumBeat's Apps! A Killer,App, a Must Have!
Review by Ed Below my VirtualRoom review. This is not because I am lazy.... This is because VirtualForest works the same way! The only difference, and it's not a litle one, is that this time the listener is not in a room but in a forest. There are 3 rooms, a small, a medium and large. There are no preset library in the Stand Alone and IAA version but the copy and paste feature only and perhaps that this option is much more better, because it’s not a Reverb. Or a Reverb that works in the opposite side... Here, the settings are for you, the listener and the 2 input sources. To be able to move the listener and the 2 input sources with you fingers, it's Top. You can easily follow the images from a movie while you are making the sound design, or even the soundtrack in a DAW like Auria. , it's top! . VirtualRoom AU can be used by sound engineers, sound designers, musicians, videos editor, even Djs. The processed signal is great, the UI too (you can work on several VirtualRoom plugins at the same time), so without any hesitation, VirtualRoom is a Killers App, a Must Have! Audio Unit (plugins) / IAA / Stand Alone And because I forgot to write something in the VirtualRoom AU post, I add it now.... These 2 plugins can be controlled with MIDI CC And because I don't want that VirtualForest be jealous of VirtualRoom AU, I add below the App Store description: With VirtualForest you can create your own binaural audio! Even directly within your favorite audio workstation app, thanks to the bundled AUv3 Plugin. This application simulates the acoustics of a forest and reproduces the sound signals for the two ears of a virtual listener inside the forest. Listening to these signals using headphones gives the impression of being inside the forest at the position of the listener. Please note that without headphones connected to your iOS device, this app may lead to unpleasant feedback noise. When run for the first time, this application will install an Audio Unit v3 App Extension that can be used in various third party applications. The sound sources take their signals from the left and right input channels (coming from a microphone, Inter-App Audio, or the AUv3 host application) and can be moved in real time by dragging the loudspeaker symbols on the screen. The listener can be moved by dragging the head symbol. Alternatively, sliders can be used to set the positions (including along the vertical Z dimension), as well as source gains and the listener azimuth. Current settings can be copied in a text format to and from the clipboard. The unique mirroring function lets you create a balanced stereo setup simply by pressing a button. To conclude: I really love the concept of these Reverbs that aren't Reverbs, even if they are Reverbs.... and I will be really happy to have a lot of new places in the future! A Killer App!, a Must Have!
