Warning! When I am making the Let's open it together post, I don't know the App... I also didn't read the App Store description before... So, I want to apology if I am saying mistakes or if there are "lengths" in the Video or in my writing below. Check out the App Store description at the end of this post... If you have this App feel free to add infos, clarification, even to injury me (not too much) in the comment section below... Concept: a Looper. A Looper like no others in the App Store because it allows you to create groups. To recall them as you like. Great for live! First impressions: Excellent! It looks like I was expecting and more.... Sound quality: no sounds Audio Processing: I only added a Reverb during this demo... I don't know if it'spossible to slow down or speed up loops... Features: Ableton Link, Audiobus, IAA, Core MIDI, and Audio Unit Host is on the way. It seems that you can create as much group as you like. Master group too. After I made this video I discovered a Drum track.... UI: Very comprehensive. It doesn't looks like a Gas Manufacture unlike a lot of others Loopers... Drag & Drop, Swipes seems to be used a lot to make this App very easy to use. Conclusion: The concept is really awesome. The App very very well done. There are a few things that I want to know now like: Istagram it possible to paste a Sample from the pasteboard, is it possible to monitoring or not a tracks... I will check that... Before my review, I will wait the next update that will be released shortly, but at this moment I think that Group The Loop will integrated my Live setup!

Group the Loop will be updated very shortly with big improvements. i am always saying that Quantiloop Pro is the Best Live Looper available in all Galaxies... Before my review, a preview... You know how much I love you... No? For a week I am talking in the videos.. And it's just awful for me! I hate my voice, my French accent... Just horrible! And to show you how much I love this App, I did much more stronger.... I sang in this video... For the first time of my life! I am a musician who can play guitar... (I am not a guitar player...) On stage, I use a Keith McMillen 12 step Pedalboard. It's cool but... It can play chords but Inhave one octave only. Sure, I can switch to another octave but to do this, I have to tap 1 time to enter the set up mode, another time to switch to the next or previous octave and one more time to exit the setup mode... It means that I never switch an octave while I am playing a song... I can also set a Chord type, (but not a Chord progression) and to do this, I have to connect it to a computer... So, I am always using the default chord setting... And to finish, I had to spend hours to learn how to play a song with my foot, and sometimes both... But now it's an old story! Dream Foot is a a benediction... I am addicted to it! (The song I am singing in the video with some little changes.... Dancing Barefoot from Patti Smith) Dream Foot can be controlled with MIDI notes or CC. First good point! It comes with 2 modes. First a Jam mode: 24 Pads divided into 3 windows. To setup your chord,... 10 second... (Watch the video demo and check out the tutorial below) The Song mode... Awesome... Nothing has been forgotten! You create your song. Then a part (Stanza) with unlimited chords. You can copy a Chord (useful if you have created custom ones) and paste it before or after this chord or another one. You can also copy and paste a part. 16 parts are available. On the bottom 16 slots for 16 Songs. Top, easy, simple! The MIDI control available: For the Jam mode. Play a Pad and hold chords For the Song mode: Select a specific part, previous or next part, play next chord and next or previous song. 2 Taps max to play a desired Chord! Also, you can play one single note.. And you have this Play Next button... Do you understand what it means? Instead of assign chords to a Part, you assign all thre notes included in a melody you like to play. Then with one Tap on your Pedalboard you will be able to play a sophisticated melody at 200 bpm! (Dream Foot is also multitouch.... Jam mode....) To conclude: Dream Foot is awesome! So well think! So easy to use! So fast to setup! It can receive MIDI from multiple input and send it to,multiple output too! Dream Foot gives you 4 hands! A Must Have! A Killer App!
Review by Ed A very big Kap to this Jason Snell!Warning! Concept: MIDI Drone Machine First sensations: Top atmosphere! Sound quality: I love! Audio Processing: Features: 8 tracks / 1 pattern from? to 32 bars (I am not sure...) / possibility to set the Scale / MIDI in & out UI: very clean / it seems to be easy to use. But I am not sure that I have seen or understand all the potential of this App.... To conclude: I love the concept, the UI. I am sure that I will use it for my live performances... I really want to learn this App now... I will, post the review very shortly... Ed: first sensations A Drum Pads. 8 Pads. 12 Drum kits and more... First, the sound quality: I love the Drum Kits especially the Kicks and the Snares (Real Kit, Real Kit with Ride, Real Kit with Rimshot, Pop Kit, Rock Kit, Chemical, Hip Hop, Trip Hop, Classic Rock and the Funk Kit ... Really... a little bit less for the Dance/Club because of the delay on the Snare, and not really the Percussion kit... Once you have selected a Kit, you can assign the instrument you like into a desired Pad. Twice and more if you like... This can be really useful because of the Autoplay feature... A clever Autoplay feature... Check out the tutorial below. You will also benable to set the volume independently for each Pad. (Note that the Pad will play louder if you tp its center). I forgot,... The Open HH will close if you tap the Close HH... Cool ! Also you can play along a song from your Music Library. You will be able to record your performances and share them via Audiocopy, emails, the Open in feature and more,... You can send them to the developer server. Your recording will be ready to play and download for everyone who will receive the link Here is a link where I played with all the kits: http://rhythmpad.com/rec/5a4eb7c698ac6 To finish, you can use Rhythm Pad Pro as a MIDI Controller via Wi-Fi or the Camera connection kit. To conclude now: I love the sound. I love the Autoplay feature. In the Drum Pads category, there is a few Apps very powerful.. For this reason only I can not say that Rhythm Pad Pro is a Killer App, a Must Have but despite this, it's a real Super App and with a little a bit more like the Core MIDI, the possibility to import our own samples... A Super + App!
Review by Ed I am very old now... I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Dozen of girls and boys around me... I remember this day when Audiobus was released in the App Store... A big revolution! All around the world, million of musicians in the streets, sound engineers, Producers, Videos editor... It was crazy... For the first time we were able to connect Apps together with internal audio busses. Today, this first version of Audiobus no more exist. Today, we have Audiobus 3! Unlimited internal Audio Busses. An Audio Mixer, A MIDI Router, a Ableton Link remote, an Audio Units host, and a App State Recorder! Each time you connect 2 Apps together (Audio or MIDI), an audio bus is created. An Audio Bus it's a stereo channel with a rack for the inputs and the inserts and 1 slot for an output (by default, the master output of your iDevices). In each rack you can add as much Apps as you like and that your iDevice can support. You can mix in a same rack Audiobus and Audio Units Apps. You can also send the output in another App. A new bus will be created... As much as like and that your iDevice can support... The MIDI routing page works the same way... It's so easy to set your MIDI set up that even my 6 months old son can do it. (Not that I am not totally sure to have a son...) The Mixer allows you to Mute, Solo, Pan and set the volume of all the Busses that you have created. Now 2 things that are not details... The remote transport that you can find in all the Apps loaded into Audiobus... It's just awesome! I remember when I was so young, so beautiful, with a lot of muscles everywhere... Thousand of girls and boys around me, I sent a Tweet to Audiobus asking them if it was possible to add an escamotable MIDI keyboard to this remote... I still think that it could be a good idea... And the State Saver is just... So coooooooool! When you have finish to work with all your Apps, you don't need to save the state for all of them... Simply save your Audiobus session. This is so awesome that for my live, even if I don't need Audiobus for a track I am performing, I use it just to recall all my Apps state! To conclude: Generally when I do a review, I do not like to talk about another App. it's a bit like giving an Oscar for the best movie, you're talking about another movie. But this time I will make a " Une entorse à la règle " in french, "sprain to the rule" in English because in many websites, I can read: Audiobus vs AUM. for my part, there is no vs between these two apps. There is rather a big ♥ ️ Audiobus is my Nieve and AUM my SSL As I am a very lucky guy, I can connect them together. A Killer App!, a Must Have!
Review by Ed Audio ShareIn the French App Store description lot of reviews talk about a problem with Audio Share... no output signal.. ??? As always with Audio Share and all recording Apps , you have to enable the monitoring option. Gambi is a music player. A Stem music player (check out the definition at the end of this post). Have you read it? Yes No? ok, it's a multitrack music player. up to 32 tracks! It comes loaded with 72 chiptune tracks. Soundtracks from famous game consoles. Nintendo DS, Gameboy, Commodore 64, ... the player comes with a treble and bass eq and a reverb. you can mute a track and export the playing tracks via Audiocopy or iTunes files sharing. You can also use Audiobus to record the Master out to another App. You can also import your own Stem files in the same way or by using the open in feature from another App. The App is very well done, very easy to use. I don't know other Stem files music player in the App Store... The pre loaded tracks can be used for personal usage only. A Must Have for all fans of chiptune soundtracks. For all the people who are using Stem files.
Review by Ed StemStem-mixing is a method of mixing audio material based on creating groups of audio tracks and processing them separately prior to combining them into a final master mix. Stems are also sometimes referred to as submixes, subgroups, or busses.
Some people consider stems the same as separation mastering although others consider stems to be sub-mixes to be used with separation mastering. There is some lack of clarity with regards to what is a stem versus what is a separation. Semantically it seems to depend on how many separate channels of input are available for mixing and/or at which stage they are towards reducing them down a final stereo mix, with different people drawing the separation line at different places. This technique originated in the 1960s with the introduction of mixing boards that were equipped with abilities to assign individual inputs to sub-group faders and then manipulate each sub-group (stem mix) independently from the others. This technique is widely used in recording studios to control, process and manipulate entire groups of instruments such as drums, strings, or backup vocals, in order to streamline and simplify the mixing process. Additionally, as each stem-bus usually has its own inserts, sends and returns, the stem-mix (sub-mix) can be processed independently through its own signal processing chain to achieve a different effect for each group of instruments. This technique is also practiced with Digital audio workstations (DAWs) in a similar way where groups of audio tracks may be processed and manipulated digitally through a separate chain of plugins. Stem-mastering is a technique derived from stem mixing. Just like in stem-mixing, the individual audio tracks are grouped together to allow for independent control and signal processing of each stem and can be manipulated independently from each other. Even though this method is not commonly practiced by mastering studios it does have its proponents. In audio production, a stem is a group of audio sources mixed together, usually by one person, to be dealt with downstream as one unit. A single stem may be delivered in mono, stereo, or in multiple tracks for surround sound. In sound mixing for film, the preparation of stems is a common stratagem to facilitate the final mix. Dialogue, music and sound effects, called "D-M-E", are brought to the final mix as separate stems. Using stem mixing, the dialogue can easily be replaced by a foreign language version, the effects can easily be adapted to different mono, stereo and surround systems, and the music can be changed to fit the desired emotional response. If the music and effects stems are sent to another production facility for foreign dialogue replacement, these non-dialogue stems are called "M&E". The dialogue stem is used by itself when editing various scenes together to construct a trailer of the film; after this some music and effects are mixed in to form a cohesive sequence. In music mixing for recordings and for live sound, stems are subgroups of similar sound sources. When a large project uses more than one person mixing, stems can facilitate the job of the final mix engineer. Such stems may consist of all of the string instruments, a full orchestra, just background vocals, only the percussion instruments, a single drum set, or any other grouping that may ease the task of the final mix. Stems prepared in this fashion may be blended together later in time, as for a recording project or for consumer listening, or they may be mixed simultaneously, as in a live sound performance with multiple elements. For instance, when Barbra Streisand toured in 2006 and 2007, the audio production crew used three people to run three mixing consoles: one to mix strings, one to mix brass, reeds and percussion, and one under main engineer Bruce Jackson's control out in the audience, containing Streisand's microphone inputs and stems from the other two consoles. Stems may be supplied to a musician in the recording studio so that the musician can adjust a headphones monitor mix by varying the levels of other instruments and vocals relative to the musician's own input. Stems may also be delivered to the consumer so they can listen to a piece of music with a custom blend of the separate elements. Looptunesdj is top! This App is not for Djs only. Musicians can use it too! Hopefully because I am the worst dj available in all Galaxies! (The Sunday Contest video is one more example of this... But despite this you can see how the Apps works...) So, LooptunesDJ comes with 2 identical "surfaces" on the left and right side. On the top, the Decks. Tempo Auto Detected / Tempo x2 or /2 / Offset slider / 4 cues (you can move a cue to another cue slot) and 6 loops ( 1, 2,4,8,16 or 32 bars). Below the Pads: 16 per surfaces. 4 channels for each surface (4 Pads per channel). LooptunesDJ comes with a lot of loops but much more are available in the online store. You have 20 credits. 1 loop = 1 credit. You can also import your own loops with Audiocopy or Audio Share. You can also record a loop to a Pad with Audiobus, the built in microphone of your iDevice or an external hardware. A great feature allows you to record your master out to a single Pad.. Great because of all the effects and parameters that offer this App. Each Pad can be played from 5 different ways: bar, one shot, one shot raw, note on, note on raw. You can also drag a Pad to another slot, even the other surface. A keyboard allows you to play the sample same as with a Sampler. For each surface, we have a Mixer. A volume for the deck and all Pads with a 3 band EQ for each. Each Pad can be sent to a Filter, a Delay and a Reverb. The deck can be send to a Fx slot too. 2 big expression Pads, one for each surface allows you to play live with all the Fx available. Also and this is really awesome, each Pad comes with its own "Channelstrip" named Macro here. A small expression Pad for a filter (Bandpass, Highpass and Lowpass). 1 slider for the LFO amount and one for the speed. Also a distortion (a good one) a volume, a pan and a pitch. Below the crossfader allows you to switch or mix the 2 surfaces together. LooptunesDJ can be controlled by a sequencer, an external Pedalboard or else. (MIDI implementation with MIDI sync and learn). It also comes with the Ableton Link feature. Below, you will find the tutorial and 3 videos. The first one, I made it today. A little tutorial. The second one was made for the Sunday Contest. A weird mix, but you can see the powerful of this App. The last one was made for the Let's open it together post. To conclude, this App is very versatile. The processing quality for the effects is really great. The App is very easy to use even if you have to know some little tips to have a real big fun with it. (Check out the tutorial) I love this App! A Killer App! A Must Have!
